Well, I can't sleep. It is funny that when you are upset, it is easy (at least for me, with all the frustration and confusion) to tell hubby that we need time apart.
But now that I am face with it, I am a total wreck. I just know that I CANNOT do this!
I may spend a couple more days here getting some stuff done, but I am going to e-mail hubby and rell him.
We already have a counseling appt set up for about a week from now, we are about to start school, yes, there is the pressure of the move and trying to sell our house, and my parents are coming out the third week in September for a visit! (fun! fun!)
Thanks for your continued prayers. I know that God is doing some awesome stuff here (changing me, changing hubby, breaking old habits and patterns). It is all good. But when you are so close, it is hard to step back and take a deep breath and start fresh. I think that we hoped this time would be that for us.
But I feel like we are heading down a path of destruction... too scary...

Hang in there, Melissa. You CAN do this. I personally think a short time apart to rethink what's really important is not a bad thing. Give yourself some breathing space - sometimes you only need a few days. Did your dh look at that website I gave you? Did you look at it? Lots of good help there.

I looked at it a little. No, I did not show it to him. Sorry. I bookmarked it, though.

About the space, I agree, but what if it turns into more? It hurts so much to have him agree that we need to be apart. I am close to panic attack.

On our trip, my big bro pointed out to me that I am not trusting God and that he is very concerned with my "fragile mental state". Lots of history there, but at times I feel like hubby is trying to drive me crazy (lots on manipulation and twisting things around). Plus he (hubby) says one thing to bro or family and the total opposite to me. Anyway, I agree with what he (bro) said. But now I feel like I don't know what is happening and what I am supposed to do. At times I hate my hubby, but am afraid that this is the end.

You can't keep on doing what you've been doing. Something's gotta change. You sound like you're in the stage where putting up with the way he's treating you sounds better than having him gone . . . been there. It's not better. Your husband needs to grow up and start loving you like Christ loved the church. I don't know if he's willing to do that or not, but email him the link to that site. I know many people who have been helped by that ministry, myself included.

Melissa,

Take this time away to breath the morning fresh air and to do lots of praying.

It is extremely hard. Do you have someone that you can confide in? A good Christian friend? If so, that sometimes help.

Nope! Sounds pathetic, huh? I have my bro and sis-in-law, but not someone who is not related.

Hubby just said, "I agree with you that we need a fresh start - why do you feel like spending a little more time apart isn't that?". It is, but I feel like it will never come back together. Like all the pain will just make being apart easier... I just don't know. Maybe my pride is hurt that he wants to be apart, but this feels like the end.

Thanks for listening...

Well, I figured out why I've been so exhausted this week...In addition to having to get up early for the beginning of school (the paid job kind not ours at home) Aunt Flo came 1.5 weeks early.

Today I have the introduction to the rest of the Home School Co-op group. I'm not feeling all that well and the kids are acting like
they left their brain at the store. Its a swimming party like a back-to-school bash. I am so nervous. I know that I shouldn't I already know like 3 or 4 of the members but it doesn't make it any less nerve racking. I started to just tell them I forgot but then figured that didn't seem like a good idea. I am feeling a little out of sorts so maybe this is just the thing we need.

Hope everyone has a wonderful day today.

zoe--Huh... perhaps Auntie Flo is about to visit here, too. Since my race, I just haven't felt "right". Yes, I've asked. This isn't "normal" post-race stuff. Although, it's not uncommon for AF to show up early post race.

Figured out why ds2 has been a little angel. No, he hasn't magically matured. He wants a paint ball party for his birthday. Sigh... BUT, now that PS has started, he's realizing how good he has it. His best friend can't play (sorry--hang out. 13yo's don't play) until later in the evening due to homework. Then, he has to go in early because he has to be up at 5:30 to get ready for school. Ds2 doesn't want ANYTHING to do with that!!!

Is he willing to wear a paint ball helmet?

Personally, I wouldn't let him until he showed that he was mature enough to wear proper protective equipment for the stuff he already has. I am just mean that way, plus I am in no hurry to buy my kids more expensive stuff that will require more expensive stuff to use it that doesn't have anything to do with learning.

David just asked me about buying himself one recently. We talked about it and he decided to wait until he had money coming in more steadily to pay for the balls and tanks. (secretly, I am hoping that he will eventually decide that it isn't worth it).

At least she waited until AFTER FOT. I am so glad that she has been banned from this house for some time now. I still get emotional now and then though.

Ellie-Mae--hate to tell you, but no she hasn't been banned completely.

There's a paint ball place that hosts parties. Safety equiment required. Ds2 went to a party there this summer. We'll look into the cost. After he turns in this week's geography assignment.

Mine was extremely on time, but short, which is sort of odd. But if it wants to be a shorter one, who am I to complain.

Michelle, hope you and your children have a great time at the swimming get together and meet some new friends.

Aunt Flo should be here any day. Since I've started exercising and cutting back on refined sugar etc., my cycles have returned. That makes sense since I have PCOS and was starting to show signs of insulin resistance. So many good things have come from my healthy changes. My blood pressure and resting heart rate have decreased, my blood sugar is back in normal range, and I have more energy. I just wish Aunt Flo didn't have to come along too. I was really hoping I was done with all that. PMS has been awful and I've had to take valerian root a couple of times a day just to keep from snapping at my family.

Someone needs to get that chick a new calendar, 'cause she was two weeks late over here! At least now I know where she headed, though, lol.

So, the entire school district in which I reside, that prides itself on being one of the best, was just put on the 'needs improvement' list by the state. District officials are saying it must be a mistake Well, I dunno, folks, when 2 out of 3 high schools and every single middle school fail to make the grade, why wouldn't you be on the list?

Nate thinks he has a 3-day weekend coming up and he's thrilled, lol. Of course, he will have to do schoolwork since I haven't been making him do his full-load while he's been working.

You mean mommy, you. Somebody pass Jen the golden spoon.

I am getting ready to take Brandon to see my chiropractor. Hopefully he will have some ideas. I haven't heard back from the neurologist yet so I don't know what we're doing in that department.

Your schools have to be better than ours, Jenn.

A tenth grader was shot in the leg twice this week for no apparent reason at one of our state-wide award winning high schools.

I dunno, Shadow, what would your vice principals do if they knew a kid had a gun? Because ours sat on their hands for 90 minutes while two kids carried a gun from class to class.

Ours wasn't that bad, but the school officials ignored bullying that was so bad that friend's son was going to commit suicide. They had to get the police involved. And this principal has received awards for no bullying and a safe school. Well, if you sweep the dirt under the rug, it is still there... and the bump in the rug shows it even if you look the other way.

Yeah, but somehow it seems to me that public education has gotten society to stop looking at the rug at all.....

On the good news front, my dd is coming home from college for the weekend!

And Garrett, my student from across the street, is thriving in home school!

And my son, he's doing well so far this year too. As much as I loved SOS, I ditched it this year for two reasons: they didn't have a Spanish III (forcing me to use a traditional textbook approach with BJUPress) and last year, he was forever IMing another home school boy and they kept each other distracted much of the time.

So now, he is not allowed on the computer until everything else is done, because he has only one class online, and that hasn't even started yet.

I am really enjoying the face time with him in Spanish III.

Jen, ya just have to get a notebook and keep track of all the reasons ya homeschool!!!
Our old district was the same way. They couldn't teach the third graders to read but won awards anyhow!!
Oh, if anyone is following the story in KY, go back to NotaLisa's thread and read what I found.

Schools do not have any accountability. Our school system based everything on state testing and applauded itself. Well, that is not all there is to successful kids!
