ORIGINAL: paulsbride Someone at church asked me if they could take Judah to their homeschool co-op every Wednesday - they have a nursery (not certain yet if there's any structure to it or not) and 3-4 toddlers. The co-op is from 1-4, but they'd have to pick him up at 12 and they offered to keep him until prayer meeting, which starts at 6. I'd say go with your instinct on this one. I wouldn't have wanted either of mine to have been away from me that long (and with other children) at that age. From an "other kids" point of view, from a tiredness point of view, and from a "break in daily routine" point of view. If you're wanting a break to do housework and/or spend time with Wesley, maybe there's someone else who could have Judah for a while, in a quieter environment and for a shorter amount of time.

I'm so excited! I found Timmy's infant pics a couple weeks ago, and I thought they were lost. I started crying when I found the disc. When we were unpacking, I came across this large box that I had been toting around since I moved to Oregon in 2002, and I had never really looked through it, just moved it from place to place. Well, I unpacked it this weekend, and I found my ALL TIME favorite shoes! They are pink and white Vans from my skateboarding days! I was so stoked. And, I found a bunch of old funky make-up that I used to wear in high school like blue mascara, green nail polish, and face glitter. Found my old Metallica tee-shirt too. I also found a disposable camera in the box! I dropped it off at Walgreens earlier, so I'll be getting those tomorrow. I'm kinda scared to see what it is.

Good Morning, Ladies! I go today at 10:30 to get a haircut and highlight...I am chopping my hair off to above my shoulders. I am at a point where I am ready for something different. If I don't like it then it will grow back out, not a biggie. I have had it short once and liked it, but again got bored so I grew it out. That was a few years ago. So we shall see!

I am growing my hair long right now - it's to my bra strap at the moment, you can see pictures HERE. I usually end up bored and cut it back up to my shoulder, but I don;t really want to do that! So as long as it looks healthy and I can style it I want to keep growing it. Manda, thanks for the reassurance. Sometimes it takes someone else to tell you it's ok to just parent your own child the way you feel like doing it. So thanks for doing that for me right now. I will do what *I* am feeling should be done.

Long hair is fun. I had nothing but long hair for years (my dad wouldn't allow me to cut it above shoulders when I lived at home) so the week after I got married, I chopped it off to my chin! LOL!! Then to my cheekbones. I hated it. So I grew it out again and kept it long for about 8 years. Then at Christmas I decided to be brave and go short again. I got tired of drying it, straightening it, trying to keep it moisturized, keeping it out of my face, etc. This time I am loving it, I think because I found the right cut for my face. I think I'll keep it short for a while. I have to get it trimmed every 6 weeks, though, it grows so quickly. It is SO HOT already. At 8:00 this morning I stepped outside and it was hot. Hubby is mowing now, so he can be in for the afternoon. It's supposed to be 107 today, but with humidity, heat index will be over 110. Ick. eta: Jess, your hair looks healthy and beautiful! And Sarah, in your hospital pics with Justice, I thought you looked so pretty with your hair pulled back like that.

Christina- You aren't going to use that make-up are you? It may cause infections, being so old. What fun to find all that stuff and remember. I found a box in our attic a few months ago that had my old high school annual and letters from an exchange student from Germany that I am still friends with. It was lots of fun remembering. Nicole- Welcome!! Haircuts- I've had everything in the book except for a truely short cut and each one has it's advantages and disadvantages. Right now my hair is chin length and I am letting the layers grow out a bit differently so that I don't really have fringy bangs... but it will still be shreaded abd chin length. I know bangs are the trend now, but I'm tired of them. I like to think I'm making a new trend and everyone is following me instead of me being out of style. It takes me about 2-5 minutes to fix my hair because the cut really suites the texture and thickness of my hair. When I have long hair, it can take me up to 45 minutes to fix my hair. It's wavy and thick and it is a load of work to straighten. It's beautiful, but I'm just not willing to put the kind of time into it that it takes to maintain long, wavy hair. Also, when it's long I am bad about putting it up all the time and skimping on washing it. My hair is too oily to skip a day of washing, so it just looks like a hot mess when it's long. And what's the point of long hair if you are just going to pony-tail it every day? I did like being able to do classy updos, though. A little Audrey Hepburn is always lovely. Today- I've been doing laundry and cleaning house. The ice rink is down, so I am doing yoga while the repairs take place there. I guess skating doesn't use my hamstrings much because the back of my thighs are sore from Friday's yoga!! I've already cleaned up out back from where dh left grass clippings all over the patio. I made sure to do that before I vaccumed so I wouldn't track stuff in. My best friend is coming Wednesday for our Bible study, so I need to get the house finished. I work tomorrow, so no time for cleaning then. I am planning to serve tomatoes, fresh mozarella cheese, and balsamic vinegar for lunch Wednesday. Do you think that needs anything else? I'm not sure what else to put with it... suggestions would be much appreciated!! Tonight I'm not sure what to make for dinner. Tomorrow is a roast, potatoes, and carrots in the crockpot. Maybe I'll do a casserole of sorts with frozen meat and spaghetti sauce, whole wheat pasta and cheddar cheese. Yep, that's what I'll do.

Excited to hear from Chelle about her hair. Mine is a few inches past my shoulders with bangs. I had long bangs (they used to curve around my chin) and got them cut last October and I'm thinking about growing them out again.

Even if I wasn't using calculus every day at my work, it's amazing how many of the lessons I learned in college did actually serve me well in the working world. Ruth, I have a question... My ds is taking AP Calc and AP physics this year; I was wondering if there were special supplies that he might need. (I didn't take calc or phys) Do they use graph paper? He has a graphing calculator, and we have a calc primer ordered--it should be here this week. Homeschooling: We have a number of online public schools here in CO. I have a friend who is doing the public schooling at home, and she really likes it. (it gives her a structure) I also have other friends who homeschool. We have chosen to have our children in public schools, but we regularly reevaluate whether it is really meeting our children's needs.

Jess - May I ask what types of hair products you use for your hair. It looks so healthy, shiny, and frizz free. Absolutely beautiful! Well, it is gong to take some getting use to and I think next time I go I might have her do a few things differently. It's not bad, but shorter than it was. I have had my hair this length before, but years ago. It is just going to take me playing around and styling it myself, but I definitely think a little length does look better on me. It's just hair though and it will grow back eventually, right? Really though I am not happy/disappointed with it at the moment just ok with it. I feel really tired today and hungry! Nothing sounds good though, but I might go get a popsicle that sounds the best.

Zippy, I was going to suggest some pita chips or baguette toasts or something to go with your tomatoes/cheese/vinegar. Oh, what about a flavored olive oil? That would be tasty too. We had a good weekend camping. It poured rain most of the time, but it was still nice to get out of the house. Today is a holiday here, and hubby is still on vacation the rest of the week. He's still working on getting our wood. I still have a bit of a cold that I caught from Chase, those baby colds are potent! I think hubby is getting it now too :( Next week is my high school reunion, I'm excited, but starting to get nervous!!!

I only have lemon infused EVOO which I will set out. I don't think I have time to make any other flavors because it takes a while to sit to infuse. I reduced my vinegar a while ago, which I have never done before. It cooked out a lot of the sour and made it sweeter and thick. It's going to be so good!!

I just put the vinegar on the stove in a sauce pan on medium high and boiled it until it thickened. It took maybe 10 minutes? Just don't breathe the fumes directly. It's painful! I probably started with 1/2 cup and reduced it to 1/4 cup.
