Yayyy Chelsea!!! (No skimming this time! Woooooo!)

Hey I have a wooo too. Got a good sized custom order tonight. Yay! It has been a slow week, so I'm very glad.

I'm glad the blood test is over, Nicole. When will you get the results?

That's great too Crystal! WOOO for you.

I think she said in a day or so. I guess the doc will ring if the results are positive but I will ring in two days myself to just double check with the doc about them. They make you come in for the results though. Tomorrow I will be fully dairy free and working on getting him to go longer at night without a feed so I can do the other test before Dec.

I hope you get the answers soon.

I'm trying to work on this scrapbook/profile thing and it's sooo not happening. I'm not a scrapbooker! My brain can't put it all together and make it work. I think I need gemstones and metals to be creative. Think they'd accept a diamond studded copper book with the letters to the birth mom engraved and textured with a lovely black patina?

I like the sounds of that Crystal! It takes me a while to do scrapbooking, I need to get in the right frame of mind. Got any pics you can share with us of it?

Ugh. I can't believe I'm up so early! I got up when hubby got up to get ready for work. Normally I sleep until little one gets up.

But I have a big job to do today...our friends gave us some blueberries (they have fields around here and hubby helped them with their bees on night, so they gave us these for a thank you)
But I need to clean them, wash them, dry them and freeze them sometime today. I should get at it!

I'm sure I'll have some blueberry eating pictures later! LOL

Who likes dogs? Want to see a picture of hubby's dog?

Oh and for anybody who is interested, here is what our house looks like now,
and here is what we are planning to do....

(just looking through my photobucket and thought I would share some)

(actually, I'm procrastinating about the blueberries)

Tuesday!! He's coming next Tuesday.

I should call the lady at the power company and tell her.

Oooh look at all those blueberries!! I'd be in heaven!

Cute doggie too.

Umm, three hours later, this. I can't decide if I like it. What do you think? This thing is so important, I'm paranoid about it not being good enough.

And now, at 6:22am, I'm going to bed!

Nicole (from out West) - is this a bad time to tell you I'm coming to visit but won't have any time to see you however I thought if I parked my car in your driveway you could pretend like I was visiting?

Nicole (from down under) - praying for the results of the test.

Chelsea (from out West) - that is awesome about the photography clients! Congratulations!!!

Crystal (from jewelry land) - I really like that page, it is beautiful, you both are beautiful, it is very touching.

Good morning everyone else (from everywhere). Hope you all have a wonderful day!

I really like it Crystal! If you are feeling like it's too much, you could take out the picture in the bottom corner, and put a cute picture of each of you separately. I LOVE, love love the picture of you guys in the middle!!
Good job so far, I would love to see more!

Blueberries:
I wash in cold water, most of the junk floats to the top and is easy to pick out. Then I spread them on cookie sheets covered in paper towels, and blow them dry with a fan, rearranging often to dry them completely.
When they're dry, I put them in the freezer on the cookie sheets so they freeze individually instead of in clumps.

Right now I have 6 cookie sheets on the counter and the fan going in front of them, but Chase keeps moving the fan. He grabs the base and drags it across the kitchen. He can't figure out what I'm doing!!

Tommorrow Greg gets to the be the SAH parent. I have another all-day seminar for continuing education on my Engineer's license. Tomorrow's will be on plumbing, which I'm glad about. Spent so much time designing HVAC stuff that I often felt I didn't understand the plumbing side as well as I should. In November there's another seminar on steam.

Ok, so how long should the scrapbook be?

Why don't you start with a couple of pages on each you and Dustin separately. Maybe some pictures of you both doing your favorite activities, hobbies, etc. So a picture of Dustin (golfing/playing games/whatever his interests are...sorry, I don't know) and maybe if he does something with his hands, a photo or example of something he's made... and for yourself, you could have photos of you singing, maybe a poem you've written, or song lyrics, photos of you jewelry. Stuff like that. You could dedicate at least a couple of pages to your interests.

Then maybe some pictures of you guys together on vacation, or doing "family" activities. (BBQ's, parks, bike rides, etc.)

You could do a couple pages of pictures of holidays (Christmas, 4th of July)

Hmm, what else...

Make sure you include some candid photos that aren't posed. You know, "real" photos.

Does any of that help? I don't even know if that's what you were asking
I was just thinking if you kind of laid out a table of contents in your head, you might have a little more direction to work towards.

I can't wait to see what else you come up with...the cover alone is lovely!

Wish we lived closer girl, then instead of cleaning your house I could scrapbook with you and you could still bake me those cookies Your page you posted looks really good! I have never done digital scrapbooking.

Hugs, Nicole (from down under)

I slept to late this morning and feel yucky! I was enjoying the ton of rain we have been getting here, but now it is not as enjoyable because my little guy can't play outside. Even when it is not raining it is wet and nasty. If I didn't have to be the one to climb all over the play stuff I would take him to Monkey Joes. But, the last time we did that he didn't like it, but then again that was 8 months ago so he could like it now.

Oh I don't know if I posted this already or not, but some of my friends from church are getting together and starting a book club. It won't always be Christian books, just books we have wanted to read. We will meet once a month to discuss the book and just have some girl time. The first book is Nicholas Sparks Nights in Rodanthe which with this book we will read it and then go see the movie. If you ladies have any suggestions on some good reads please share

Hubby thought it was a good idea to try Monkey Joes (place with big inflatables) today and then we will meet him for lunch. If nothing else there is plenty of space for him to just run around so it should be fun!

Ruth, I didn't know you worked in the HVAC field. I did too, though I'm not an engineer, I was the QA Inspector. I found it quite interesting.

I do hope they catch those 5 guys though

well last night as I was going to bed I walked over and kissed him good night, which i didn't want to do. This morning I made him coffee, and after the banana episode I went and asked if he wanted me to make him lunch. I am trying to be nice but its so hard on top of Nath, housework etc etc

going to take Nath now. I feel like throwing up!

Nicole, I'm very proud of you. Like someone else said, you're between a rock and a hard place. I know it is not easy to do, but you are doing the right thing. When I read your post, this passage immediately came to mind:

I Peter 3:1-2 Wives, likewise, be submissive to your own husbands, that even if some do not obey the word, they, without a word, may be won by the conduct of their wives, 2 when they observe your chaste conduct accompanied by fear.

You are doing exactly what the word of God says to. I pray that your husband will be won over by your Christlike conduct.

Good post Rachel. (stars, anyone?)

Nicole, I'm thinking about you. Yes, I agree, it must have been hard for you to do, but you're doing a good job. I will stay in prayer for you and your hubby.

When are you starting your kitchen?

morning' girls

Nicole (AUS) I second what Rach said. Being kind to your husband in the face of his unkindness is a wonderful act of sacrificial love.

Crystal -- LOVE the page. So lovely and very much *you*.

Had my Sissy at the er this morning. Poor baby was up all night, can't breath. I finally took her in at 1am. She's got bronchitis, and beginnings of pneumonia in one lung. Pretty sure she's asthmatic. Will be taking her in for testing as soon as she's better.

Hey Ladies!!! I have been checking in most evenings to try to keep on top of everyone!
My sister is still here (leaves on Friday) and then Paul is FINALLY be given some days off work - 6 days back to back The guys have all had a pretty rough time this past month, so I am glad they're all getting a bit of a break.

Chelle - the book club sounds like so much fun!! I'm going to PM you a recommendation.

I am starting up a cooking club in September, I am excited about it. I'd love to do a book club though! I need that encouragement to be reading!

Crystal - that page is beautiful. Good job non-scrapbooky friend! I think you've uncovered a new skill! I agree with Yolanda about having a 'table of contents' in your head. It'll help you know what direction to go in, and will keep you on track.
I have/am scrapbooking my boys first year (and ONLY their first year! Then they get photo albums and I will do a scrapbook of the family for ME!) - one thing that helped me MAJORLY was this "baby's first year" book I found at Borders for $1 - it was the coolest baby book, and I copied a lot of ideas from it.
I'm not sure if this is suppose to be a "fun" book (as opposed to all serious) but HERE are some neat "About me" ideas. If you google "All About Me Scrapbook" you can find other ideas like that too... not sure if that helps you or not!

Ruth Good for you staying on top of the seminars and such!! How long is an "all day" seminar? I bet it will just be loaded with information and could be overwhelming to take it all in in one day!

So Paul and I had this little dream of setting my sister up with this guy from our church that we both love .... and I think it worked He told her last night that he likes her!! They sat in our living room talking until 3 in the morning. We'd gone to bed at midnight. I'm so excited!
Totally dreaming big here - but if they got married then I would have my sister live near me!!!

Hi Rachel!
That picture of Isabel and the dog was SO cute! I love her wild hair
And I am with the other ladies - you are a cool mom! I can't help but wonder if my boy would EVER lay still long enough to look at stars!
