(((((((((((((NicoleAus)))))))))))))) How frustrating. We have doctors like that here too, sadly. We once had a doctor tell us that Hannah was throwing up her medicine because we weren't being stern enough with her and making her take it. She was admitted at a different hospital the next day with pneumonia in both lungs.

Yikes!

I had asthma growing up. It was gone for like 9 years so I didn't have an inhaler anymore. Out of no where I had a really bad asthma attack. My dad rushed me to the doctor's. He told them what was happening and told them I didn't have an inhaler. I was turning blue and was crying because I was so scared. The doctor's only helped me out when other people who were in the office told them to get me in now! I was so bad that they had to give me doses of drugs and hook me up to oxygen for a long time.

I was in pain for 3 years and no doctor would help until I almost lost an ovary and needed emergency surgery. After that they apologized, but I was too mad to accept that apology. I almost lost an ovary... stupid doctor's. I had so many different doctor's tell me it was nothing and would go away.. for 3 years!!! I was always in pain and missed a ton of school and work.

Or the time I broke my foot and my parents rushed me to the ER. I was crying and freaked out cuz I was like 9 at the time. A really nice man let me take his spot so I could see the doctor right away or else I would have had to wait all day. Then they sent me home with nothing! Not even a bandage so my parents had to wrap my foot up and take care of me. Without the bandage I would be in pain from just sneezing.

So yeah, I just don't trust doctors. Especially after hearing how many times my aunt has almost died from their mistakes.

Doctors are either a blessing or a curse... I'm not sure there's much room for middle ground there! I really like mine, but I don't trust her 100%. (As evidenced by the lack of filling all the prescriptions she's given me. Don't worry, none of them were vital or anything. Obviously. lol) I'm a horrible patient. I have Google and know how to use it.

My last doctor was great! I only had him for about a year and I miss him. I hope I find a doctor like him here. He was perfect! He always answered all my questions and took his time answering them. And he would even talk to Lorne just because he was that friendly. He even came to the hospital when he found out I was there to make sure I was ok. He left his house at 2am just to do that and then went home when he saw I was ok. He delivered babies too so I was hoping to still have him as my doctor one day because I totally trusted him and felt comfy around him.

{{{Nicole}}} What a horrible doctor.

We did another big shopping day today. I was so determined to keep our grocery bill under $300 this month, but it is only the 6th and I'm up to $200. I think I have enough to stretch for the next two weeks, but there's always something I've forgotten and those add up, KWIM? Ugh.
We could spend more and not have other areas suffer, but it just kills me to. I feel like I shouldn't have to, should be more organized, etc. Kinda the same as with clothes now. After getting a ton of nice clothes for under $3 apiece, I think I might actually have an anxiety attack or something if I tried to go clothes shopping at the mall.

Maggie, I'd feel the same way about clothes shopping at the mall. And my kids are all well dressed.

Yay, Sarah!!!

I love our family doctor and my OB/GYN. I'm sometimes more knowledgeable than the family doc, but he admits it, so it's all good. My OB is very tell it like it is, which I like, and also compassionate (he cried too when we lost a baby).

I got 4 loads of laundry sorted and mostly put away. Nick is cleaning up the livingroom floor (toys) and then I will vacuum. I'll do dishes while pizza bakes, do a quick sweep and mop after the little kids are in bed, and then my house will be totally clean! I think I'm having nesting a couple weeks late.

Nicole- I hope you find help for Nath soon! That is just horrible that you have to go through all of this...

Yea for productive days- we had a MOPS training that lasted all morning, so I did nothing at the house, but I have chili defrosted from the freezer for dinner and tonight I'm going to chop up potatoes for soup so I can throw the crock in tomorrow and not have to cook since 1. AWANA starts tomorrow 2. Church in the am 3. MOPS starts Monday 4. I am leading in all three tomorrow/Monday!

Maggie- I totally know what you mean- I feel like I should be able to spend so much less on groceries, but we don't really do that many extras...sigh... I did make out a meal plan for the whole month, that seems to be helping, but even with that, I feel like I'm still spending more than I'd like, though I buy ahead too, so that makes it hard to figure "true cost..."

Hey ladies...just a quick question since there are several of us on tight grocery budgets from the sounds of it. Is there a thread somewhere geared towards this? Setting up a good grocery budget, planning meals, that kind of stuff? I know we talk about it in this thread some and also in the working mom/wives thread. Let's face it...we all want to feed our families, right?

I guess I was just curious if there were ideas about this or of that nature somewhere. This is one wife/mom that would gladly borrow from others (and share if/when I found something).

Goodness Maggie, I hope you don't have any anxiety attacks. From everything I've seen you post, I think you're doing a great job, and very inspirational to the rest of us. Remember, food prices have been going up pretty strongly, so you shouldn't have the same budget expectations as you did 18 months ago.

That is a great idea about starting a thread to discuss ideas and tips. I am always looking for ways to save a buck at the grocery store.

Thanks Claire! Are you the same Claire on my FB who also commented on my blog?

I was just thinking about going and adding some more songs to my blog. I got to listen to some of the Grand Ol' Opry gospel album. I'm hoping playlist.com will have some of it.

Hey I'm steph, Peculiar_lady2 suggested that I come over here and say Hi. So here I am. I am a mother of two (one of whom is in heaven with Jesus) I cloth diaper, breastfeed (well use to, my last pregnancy dried up my milk) and stay at home with my wonderful 19mo. old son. I hope to find encouragement for this never ending job that we call mommy and where the paychecks come in the form of kisses, hugs, weeds, and slimy frogs!

Hello, Steph!! You can call me Zippy, Zipporah, HC or HisCovenant- whatever you feel most comfy with. I was a SAHW until about 5 weeks ago when I accepted a 15 hour/week job to help out in a ministry area that is a passion of mine. I don't have children and don't plan on children. I was a SAHW for 2 years and before that a Interior Decorator for 7 years. I look forward to getting to know you.

That's not my real name. Sarah suggested that the women here name me since I was withholding my name as public knowledge. So the ladies voted and it cams down to Zipporah and Cordelia at the end of voting time. They were tied, so I flipped a coin. Zipporah it is!!
