quote:
The creeds simply codify what the context of Scripture lays out as the core essentials. So are they are a good starting point? Sure, they can be. But I prefer to show the inquirer the context of Scripture for the core essentials. When talking about the creeds, we need to keep in mind their purposes. The creeds were the result of the church responding to false teachings and/or the result of efforts to clarify problematic language in an existing creed. As such, they were never intended to, nor do they, codefy all the essentials of the faith.

Say jass act what if Iwas to say you are leading people away from the creator? That in my life time have heard from persons who don't even recognize a Almighty God. Because of another person's attitude. The thing is I don't need Mclaren to do that. All I need is some arrogqant so-called christian to do that. So we need to read as to what kind a lifestyle is actually required to have in order to reach the outcast.

earthless, I agree, I fail to see it myself, but much the Western Church has spoken it and/or displayed hating other people of differing beliefs or viewing them as enemies for many years now. mushhead Thank you very much for your reply to my question; I truly appreciate all your time and effort.
