Our lives are controlled by appointments...doctor's, dentists, church services, places of employment, etc, all have appointed times for us to be there.

God, too, has appointed times for us..."A time to be born, a time to die". Some scriptures containing the words "set time" are as follows:

Gen 17:21 But my covenant will I establish with Isaac, which Sarah shall bear unto thee at this set time in the next year.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Gen 21:2 For Sarah conceived, and bare Abraham a son in his old age, at the set time of which God had spoken to him.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Exd 9:5 And the LORD appointed a set time, saying, To morrow the LORD shall do this thing in the land.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

1Sa 13:8 And he tarried seven days, according to the set time that Samuel [had appointed]: but Samuel came not to Gilgal; and the people were scattered from him.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

2Sa 20:5 So Amasa went to assemble [the men of] Judah: but he tarried longer than the set time which he had appointed him.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Job 14:13 O that thou wouldest hide me in the grave, that thou wouldest keep me secret, until thy wrath be past, that thou wouldest appoint me a set time, and remember me!

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Psa 102:13 Thou shalt arise, [and] have mercy upon Zion: for the time to favour her, yea, the set time, is come.

Have you ever tried to get something done before God's "set time"? It don't work. That is why we should be thankful that we serve a God who controls our times and seasons.

I think you're totally correct.

However, according to 2 Peter 3:8 where he says: “There is no difference in the Lord’s sight between one day and a thousand years; to Him the two are the same”; some people will have a long wait indeed.

Why do you think Peter said that?

Because God is eternal. He told Moses "I am that I am". Humans living on this earth are not eternal. They have a set time to be born and a set time to die.

You're so right about God setting the time (and the place) for things to happen.

I've seen it so many times when people want something (including me) and God says: "Not yet."
