You forgot "articulate"....something Biden apparently doesn't see all that often in people of color...

True, being assertive and agressive are different. I am trying to learn that principal. If someone has a different opinion respect the person, though you do not have to respect the opinion.

Also, if I may add, coming out with both guns blazing immediately puts the other party on the defensive. Then, the one-upsmanship like "you didn't answer me to my satisfaction, so you lose. Game, set, match." is going to infuriate people and not result in the kind of discussion we need here. I've backed out of some of this type of exchanges with others just on those grounds. I refuse to be a sounding board for someone's rants.

Let's hope we can all avoid hard feelings and have civil discussions in the future.

In conclusion, I would like to offer a bit of wisdom that I have learned from personal experience: if you stop tending to conclude that disagreement is a personal attack and come out from behind your defensive fortifications, you will be amazed at exactly how much you can learn from others and teach them in exchange.

Obama-bashers just can't contain themselves can they? It must be a product of too much Fox News and talk radio. I'm sure it does something to the psyche.

Please stick to the subject! If you can't say anything good about the man, please refrain from ridicule.

Tell me why a person should refrain from ridiculing a man that makes fun of the holy bible.

4. Would do a better job of restoring America's global reputation.

This made me LOL... out loud.

I think he's incredibly smart. I think it's been a while since we had a really smart guy in the office. What he lacks in experience, he makes up in skill and judgment. He looks for nuance in difficult areas of policy and doesn't seek to fix them with a hammer.

That is the primary reason while I'll likely be voting for him. Not that modern American politics has really had much to do with intelligent discourse in a while, but the Republican party seems to have developed a more severe aversion to it than the Dems. I'd rather not see another administration continually ignore what's going on in this world (particularly those things supported by a considerable amount of scientific evidence) just because they're beholden to an agenda.

I'm not sure why. Bush has damaged America's reputation in the extreme, and McCain is essentially offering a continuation of Bush foreign policy. I think one would be hard-pressed to find a reason McCain would be better than Obama in this respect.

THANK YOU!! It just boggles my mind that people want 4 more years of record-setting deficits, of tax cuts for the top 1% of the country, failed foreign policies than may lead to a nuclear confrontation, and 4 more years of politics as usual. Is this country REALLY better off now than 8 years ago?!?

Because over 90% (guessing due to our local responses) of the rest of the world believes he will end the Bush legacy and renew our lost interest and investments in your country.

Because I agree with more of what he wants to do than Bush.... I mean McCain. 8 is ENOUGH.
