I do not what the real definition of a hippie is, does going to a rainbow gathering make you a hippie, does having dreadlocks make you one. Hopefully I can register for nursing classes tomorrow

quote:

But you weren't 7 years old in 1969. Saying someone born in '62 is an aging hippie is like you or me saying we were greasers or beatniks. Sure, I like some of the 50s music, but I was still a kid when the decade was closing out.

Nope but being out of diapers during the hippie movement helps.

Well if you don't know what one is, why in the world would you call yourself one?

Being born in 1969, I am proud to be a product OF hippies. I like to pretend I was even at Woodstock, even if it was in utero.

Well it probably wasn't as I'm sure my mother was too busy with my brothers and work to be bothered with such nonsense while pregnant...but hey, I can dream, can't I?

How can someone born in 1962 be an aging hippie - or hippie of any kind, except as a Wannabe? That'd make you 7 years old when Woodstock was held. You were still in diapers when the Fab Four arrived in the US and only 8 when they broke up.

You're no baby now, but you weren't much more than one when hippies were around.

Regards,
JF, born 1952

Jimbo this person probably don't recognize the name Fab Four. I dare say he has never owned a pair of Beatle Boots nor a Nehru jacket in his life.

MindySue I might have been at Woodstock. I don't remember. As someone else said if you remember the 60's you weren't there.

I think this could be used an an argument for evolution this thread has a life of its own. If I ever got married I would have to leave the room if she listened to MJV, maybe I should marry someone young enough they have never heard of him

You continue to keep it alive with blatherskite.

What baffles me is why you are so obsessed with Mr. McGee. Is someone forcing you to listen to him? Are you in some kind of rehab center and part of your treatment is to listen to Through the Bible every day?

Zoloft is your friend. Take it as prescribed.

thanks...its a good friend of mine.

speaking of the dog I have to take out, mine my dog has osteo-arthrisits

I wonder if listening to JMV is grounds for filing for divorce, but I think I had to find a woman, be friends with her and date her then get married before all that could happen. Sound like a little to much trouble to go through that

So it's MJV and JMV. If he says "KJV", there's the hat trick.

My favorite is CDO.

It's the same as OCD, except it's in alphabetical order, as it should be.

I am worried about the dog.

He is 15, 16 years old, he has little to no back leg muscle, he has to have a solid surface to do his thing on, winter is going to be a little bit of a problem

I think global warming has delayed the onset of winter enoght that might help him a little bit

Here are some quotes concerning why and how Through The Bible stays on the air:

"Dr. McGee and the Board of Directors planned in advance how the program would continue in the event of Dr. McGee's homegoing. The message would remain the same and the "voice" of Thru the Bible Radio would continue to be Dr. McGee, through the use of the taped 5-year program, except for those foreign language broadcasts, where the producers use the printed 5-volume Bible study to translate and produce the program.

On the morning of December 1, 1988, a few minutes after a visit with the then Associate Director of Thru the Bible, alert and in conversation centered around his concern for the continuance of the radio ministry, Dr. McGee fell asleep in his chair and quietly passed into the presence of his Savior."
