Y'all have good afternoons.

I think it's time for me to go do something else.

Around here, we call bodegas --> mini-mart's. We are so creative in the northwest...

well, they are a little different than mini marts. we don't have anything (that i know of) in alabama that would compare to them.

they are usually wedged in between other store fronts. sometimes, you can only have 4 or 5 customers in the bodega at one time because they are that small.

Someone get Elastic some grits stat!

Sorry, make that Get Back to The South Once in Awhile Grits!

They go great with Bless Your Heart Biscuits with Don't That Beat All I Ever Saw gravy.

hopefully i'll be having some of those Get Back to The South Grits around June or July....

so, i propose that is when we should have the Den gathering.

the lioness and i will take a bus down (cheaper than flying) and she will get to see the ins and outs of being southern for a few days. then, she will promptly take her kids out of school and relocate to the paradise that is Alabama. there will be no other choice for her because it is pretty close to Utopia.

Well, since you've got it all worked out consider me onboard!

You know what, so many of y'all live down there, I think I could just rotate my lodging amongst y'all and not settle permanently in one spot (nor have the expense of rent or utilities ). I know each and every one of you is just dying to have me and my lovely children stay with you for a few, or many, weeks.

here's another picture of a smaller version. see how narrow it is?

smaller than a typical convenience store, and goods are packed inside, and usually twice as expensive as stuff you'd find at a supermarket, but if you really need that box of wheat thins, or that lotto ticket, quick in a hurry, here is where you would go.

sometimes, they have small delis inside where they make sandwiches to order, which is why i was in there in the first place. those are actually priced in a decent range.

I still like my suggestion. Montgomery is like a foreign mission field from where I live.
