LightOfEarendil -> When Ham saw the nakedness of Noah (8/18/2008 3:27:46 PM)

Hello everyone, I'm new here and I'm from México. I hope we can discuss biblical and christian things in a friendly way. I would like to talk about a very controversial thing and it's about this verse: Gen 9:22 And Ham, the father of Canaan, saw the nakedness of his father, and told his two brethren without. Later on Noah curses his son because of this and I always wondered why such an action would deserve a curse. But then I read Leviticus 20:20 which reads: Lev 20:20 And if a man shall lie with his uncle's wife, he hath uncovered his uncle's nakedness: they shall bear their sin; they shall die childless. This led me to think that to see or uncover someone's nakedness means actually to have sex with that person. When I read this suddenly it all became clear: Ham raped his own father, thus the curse that Noah put on his son and his descendants. History reveals that Ham was the father of everyone that settled in Africa and we can see the extent of this curse, in how black people have always suffered racism, hunger and slavery. I would like to know what you think about this, I'll be waiting for your replies. God bless you all!
