Isn't it encouraging that Jesus has such a great desire for us to live with him forever that he gave his life for us?

Matthew 26:39
Going a little farther, he fell with his face to the ground and prayed, "My Father, if it is possible, may this cup be taken from me. Yet not as I will, but as you will."

Shalom, all!

This is not original from me, but I figured I could remind us of Paul's words:

Eph 1:3-6
3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ:
4 According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love:
5 Having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will,
6 To the praise of the glory of his grace, wherein he hath made us accepted in the beloved.
KJV


GOD accepts us UNCONDITIONALLY in the Beloved, Yeshua` the Messiah, and through Him has adopted us as His children!

One of my favorite Scripture verses is...

2 Cor 5:21
21 For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.
KJV


Notice the wording carefully:

.....He (God) has made Him (Yeshua`) TO BE SIN for us, who (Yeshua`) knew no sin;
that we might be made THE RIGHTEOUSNESS OF GOD in Him (Yeshua`)!

It's not a fair trade, but Yeshua` became our SIN, while we become His RIGHTEOUSNESS (or rather, GOD'S RIGHTEOUSNESS within Him)!

So, instead of seeing us WITH our sin, when God looks at us, He sees HIS OWN RIGHTEOUSNESS!
And in the same way, when God looked at His Son on the cross, He didn't see His Son with His righteousness, He saw OUR SIN! Yeshua` became the sin; we become the righteousness! It's not that we HAVE righteousness; it's that we have BECOME His righteousness! We ARE His righteousness! THAT'S the core of God's justification!

Titus 3:4-7
4 But after that the kindness and love of God our Saviour toward man appeared,
5 Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost;
6 Which he shed on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Saviour;
7 That being justified by his grace, we should be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life.
KJV


To me that's AWESOME and reassuring! I haven't done any good works to get to that position; so, I can't do any good works to KEEP me in that position! Consequently, no ABSENCE of good works (or the commitment of bad deeds) will pull me out of that position! Therefore, we can have confidence in the work of God through His Son Yeshua`!

To me, that verse goes right along with the words of a song I wanted to share.

"Turn your eyes upon Jesus,
Look full in His wonderful face.
And the things of earth will grow strangely dim,
In the light of His glory and grace."

Isn't it wonderful the way that when we have our eyes on the Lord,
nothing else matters as much. Nothing!

I had to humble myself before God and confess I have been trying to do
things on my own,and he truly touched my heart.He lifted me up for sure.In fact I felt him touch me so strongly it was as if he reached down from heaven and lovingly embraced me.

I just read this for the first time today, even though I have heard it before. But it took on new life in it's meaning when I heard it in a sermon from my Pastor. It is one of His many promises to those who follow Him, sake take solace in His words.

Isaiah 35

8 And a great road will go through that once deserted land.
It will be named the Highway of Holiness.
Evil-minded people will never travel on it.
It will be only for those who walk in God’s ways;
fools will never walk there.
9 Lions will not lurk along its course,
nor any other ferocious beasts.
There will be no other dangers.
Only the redeemed will walk on it.
10 Those who have been ransomed by the Lord will return.
They will enter Jerusalem singing,
crowned with everlasting joy
.
Sorrow and mourning will disappear,
and they will be filled with joy and gladness
.

It gets better and better as the verses go on, doesn't it.

Yes! ...looking forward to it indeed!

What a time that will be! Can you imagine going about the day with no dangers? No ferocious beasts of the human variety? No road rage? No tension? A day filled with joy, gladness and singing?

Wow!

I'm finding it helpful merely to imagine such a day.

You are not going to believe this, but when I flipped open my Bible just a moment ago, this is the verse that immediately caught my eye. I kid you not!

And Jesus began to say to them, See to it that no one misleads you. - Mark 13:5

That is my prayer ... that no one misleads me. During times of difficulty and stress, it can be so easy to be misled. Lord, please keep my eyes focused on You and You alone.

Along the same line of thinking, the following has been quite a lift for me when I've felt weak and helpless.

2 Cor. 12:9-10
But he said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness." Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ's power may rest on me. That is why, for Christ's sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong.
