Ok, that other thread inspired me to do this. 1. What is/are your kid's/kids' names(some don't want to state this on the internet, so that's ok, and don't worry, I do just mean first names, but even if you want to say nothing, I understand)? 2. What are some of your favorite names?

Our kids names each hold a link to our families and history in them.... our first, Jacob Gregory.... Jacob sounded good with the middle name we chose.....Gregory is in honor of my hubby's brother (and only sibling) who died when they were in high school. His family does not talk about Greg anymore because it was a painful time for them (he committed suicide), so naming our son in his honor was my hubby's connection to his brother...he has nothing else tp connect him except an old wallet sized school picture of his brother the year he died. His family has boxed up and won't get out or discuss all other things that were Greg's including pictures of him. our second, Hannah Grace.... Hannah was not the first name we had chosen, but I was walking in the mall one day and saw that name written on a pillow and just knew it was to be her name. Grace is a name/character that is of great spiritual importance to my mom, so it was in honor of that. our third, Emma Ruth.... Emma was the name of hubby's grandmother who died between the time we had our two girls, so he wanted that in honor of her life. Ruth is the middle name of my mom and my grandmother (and until I was born and they changed it to something else, it was supposed to be my middle name also). our fourth, Jackson Anthony..... Jackson is in honor of my Grandpa, his first name is Jackson. Anthony is hubby's middle name, and we liked how they flowed together. our fifth, Justice Emery.... Justice is not a family name but it is important to us because my hubby is in the military, so it is one of those freedoms he fights for. Emery is hubby's dad's middle name. We wanted to honor him in one of our kids, but not with his first name (Howard), so we chose his middle name instead.

We have Gabriella Alexis, who was nearly Natalia Jubilee... Actually, we called her Natalia until a week before she was born, when I had a sudden change of heart and we went back to the drawing board. I love the name Gabriella, it sounds wonderful with our very Italian last name but DH just thinks it's ok, which is fine because I'm not a huge fan of Alexis but it got me out of naming DD 'Alexandria". We like the names Julianna Kate or Wesley Joel Emerick if we are blessed with more kiddos.

I have a feeling Cindy's not going to like me very much. That's okay! I have Ty Nathanael - NOT short for Tyler or Tyrone or any other name that begins with Ty. It is simply TY. Drives teachers and school secretary's crazy because I'm always correcting them. Ty is named after a guitar player in a band my hubby is crazy about. I wasn't to crazy about that fact but I did love the name and how it went together so well with his middle name which I chose. My second child is Aryn April. Aryn is pronounced like the traditional Erin. But her middle name was NON-negotiable and we didn't want her initials spelling out the word EAT, so we went with a slightly different spelling. And yes we are constantly correcting the spelling of her name as well. I don't get too fussy unless it's on official documents and school records tho. I've had to spell my name out for people my entire life so I KNOW how it is. Aryn's name is much easier to explain than mine has EVER been. Then I have my "trendy" name. Ethan Blaine. Nothing amazing about how we picked the name. We just found the name and LOVED it. It was either going to be Ethan or Noah. Noah just didn't flow with the other two's names as well as Ethan did AND we were faced with the issue that Noah was a family name on my side of the family and the other side was making a fuss that we hadn't named any of our children after anyone on that side of the family. We didn't pick Noah because it was a family name but simply because we liked it, but a couple folks made a big enough fuss that it convinced me that it was a bad idea for us to name a child after ANY family members on either side. So when it came time for Ethan to be born I just was amazed at how well his name seemed to fit that little boy to a tee! My baby's name is Zoe Piper. Zoe means Life in Greek. She truly is my life. Her name was the hardest for us to decide on. We just couldn't decide. So we started at the end of the name books. Both of us grabbed different books and started at the back of the book and both of us must have found the name at the same time because we came together a short time later and both of us mentioned Zoe as one of our new favorite names! I love names! I sometimes will pick up a baby name book at the library just to flip through it to see what's new! But it's late and I cant' think straight so I'll add my current favorites to this list tomorrow. Tis a good thing I have spell check as I think as I'm typing this that my fingers have stopped working! Blessings, Garsy

Could we please not turn this into a thread of what names we don't like? There is plenty of room for that in the other thread. Thank you.

ORIGINAL: garsyt I have a feeling Cindy's not going to like me very much. That's okay! I love you, Garsy, and you know it! Besides, I guess I'm used to your Aryn because it doesn't bug me. She's not in one of our practices and I don't have to chart it LOL. The ones that annoy me the most are those that break the phonics rules, like Jen's examples. Then the parent is upset that you pronounced it wrong. I know someone who's one of 10 kids, and her mom named them all alphabetically, A through J. Sorry, Rebekah, back on track . . . I think I'll have a Jordan as well. I like that name.

Chelsea do you have names picked out for the new addition yet? My daughter is called Grace- I have always loved the elegant, sweet and simple sound and meaning of the name. I also like it because its by God's grace I am alive and have a daughter in the first place! Her middle name is named after my best friend (so they have the same middle name) as it was my best friend who led me to Christ, and I just always loved that name and had it picked to go with any other name I would of used. Nathaniel- because I liked the meaning and I liked being able to have a range of names to call him. I like nick names (most Aussies do, they will find a nick name for anyname ) and with Nathaniel I have a range. It was also the only one my husband liked. His middle name was non-negotiable. Its a family tradition on my hubby's side that all males have this as their middle name (I don't like it!). We aren't having anymore kids but some others I liked were Madison and Ruth Zachariah and Isaiah (both with my husband hated with a passion)

We have Hannah Grace as well. DH and I married later in life (early 30's) and had both thought we might be single and not have children. We did not find out gender when I was pregnant but we know if it was a girl it would be Hannah Grace. Hannah because of Samuels mother who longed for a child as we longed for a baby and Grace because it was God's grace that brought us together, brought us back to Him, and gave us our baby. We would like to have another baby whenever God would like to give us one. If it is a boy it will be Liam Daniel, named after my brother who died from cancer. If it is a boy we both like Zoe, Catherine, and Lydia but it is up in the air. My sister had four children and twice when she gave birth she went a completely different direction than they had decided because the baby didn't look like a Michael or whatever the name was.

We have Nicholas Duncan-I was infertile for 4 years and he was my victory-Nicholas means victory of the people and Duncan was my maiden name, which means dark skinned warrior-it's Scottish-I wanted him to be a warrior for God so... I lost a baby after my first and then had 3 more years of infertility. When I got pregnant w/ #2 I kept thimking of the name Noah James. Finally after much prayer God absolutely confirmed in my spirit "his name is to be Noah James" I agreed and asked God why and he spoke to my heart that I had been thru so much (postpartum so bad I had to be hospitalized after #1) and now was to be my time of peace and Noah means peace. James because I had lost a baby and James means "supplanter" which means to replace or take the space another left. It melted my heart when he told me that and so we have our precious Noah James. My 3rd boy is Alexander David -Alexander means protector of mankind which I thought was a lovely thing to aspire to and David means beloved which he truly is. If we are blessed with any more we like Olivia which means peace for a girl and Jack which means God is gracious if its a boy because if I am blessed enought to have anither baby it certainly is because God is gracious.

Our son's name is Hunter James - His middle name is my dad's name, love it! Some of our favorites are Abigail, Bryson, and Madelyn. I like Levi, but hubby does not so I know that one would never be used. I also like Luke.
