I don't believe in celebrating halloween and instead help out at our churches Reformation party.I do enjoy eating all the leftover candy we buy for trick or treaters.We always have a ton since I live in a small town and not too many people come to our house.

sunshine4God, does someone stay home to pass out treats while you help out at the party?
I'm curious why would buy treats if you don't believe in "celebrating" the day.

We celebrate Halloween with costumes, candy and decorating the house. It's a great excuse to take the kids around the neighbourhood and they love it.
Unfortunately my Things are getting too old to Trick or Treat so I'll see what they have in mind for this year. *shrug*
I do have a question though: What is the difference in a "Fall Festival" that has bob for apples, cakes walks, and costumes, and having a Halloween party?

I like coke with a scoop of vanilla in it. My husband makes great caramel popcorn (kinda like Cracker Jacks, only homemade and tons better).

Nobody discussed it, but the higher your rank, the better candy you were expected to give out.

We don't dress up or anything and rarely do we have kids ringing the doorbell.
But I buy a few bags of the stuff I like and if the kids come, then I share. 
I think people who actually worship Hallween might be evil? But I don't think we're talking about that here.

In modern Halloween images and products, purple, green, and red are also prominent.
Purple -- night, the supernatural, mysticism
Green -- goblins, monsters
Red -- blood, evil

That's a pretty post!
GC picked up a magazine with Halloween treats, decorations, etc. and I noticed that there was a LOT of green and purple in it. So much so that I, unobservant as I am, noticed it.
