ORIGINAL: deliveredarling The bashing was too much! It shows their hearts. The actions spoke louder than the words! Be careful who you trust.... The past behavior is the best indicator of future behavior. Words are just that, empty without action. The Dems did not bash the way the Republicans did, that says a lot in itself. you have got to be blind. bashing is on both sides, and it will always be there, and to even judge it subjectively, making your view to be the objective for everybody is pure unadulterated folly. welcome to politics. and my vantage point is that the bashing is about equal. it's called a convention. also, you might want to ask if you are making a right view, that is if you are a democratic liberal.

ORIGINAL: todd_t Here's my prediction for Palin's speech tonight: it will be simple, focus on core American issues (God, mom, apple pie, and John McCain), and will be hailed by her supporters as a smashing success, resulting in Palin being carried from the convention hall on her supporters' shoulders. I'll say one thing, though: at this rate, Caribou Barbie may be the first VP candidate to upstage her boss at a nominating convention. I think you were a little off on this one Tod, but sure it isn't the first time you misjudged a woman. Too bad you didn't guess it would showcase her knowledge, experience, humor, authenticity, and....pitbull fangs lol I after hearing her speech I certainly was even more impressed than I already was. And of course more in disbelief that someone like Obama is even running for president.

ORIGINAL: inthysite One thing I noticed about her speech was that she kept referring to NObama as "our opponent". I don't think she once called him by name. Like "The One" wasn't even worth it to have his name mentioned during her speech. Wasnt that hillarious what she said about the Greek Temple walls? LOL! The ABC Commentators noted that they thought that was an inside joke and not many people outside the convention would get it. Shows how clueless Stephenopolous, Sawyer, and the rest are. the main goal of Sarah Palin is establishing the base of this convention. if you haven't noticed, many of us are riled up to support this cause because we don't have to hold our noses as much when we vote. McCain basically has honored his constituencies by picking her.

I loved Palin's speech. She did awesome. I admit I was a bit unsure when I heard McCain had chosen her, but I'm very impressed with Palin. I felt okay about McCain, but I think he made a good choice in choosing her. I also thought it was funny to see the commentator gush over Palin's speech, even said she spoke as good or better than Obama. Thought I'd fall over hearing that.hehe.

I just didn't hear as much republican bashing from the dems.

That was a legit point. What does speaking ability really have to do with how well a person can run a country? It was a character assassination at it's finest.

John McCain knows better than most what war really is and what it does to people. No military man, and certainly no former POW, wants another war. John McCain has never, ever indicated any tendency to rush to war.

As far as the attacks, yes they could have been prevented had Clinton not been preoccupied with interns when the WTC was first attacked. Which is why some of us are very apprehensive with a lightweight with zero military experience and understanding becoming the CIC. Rudy reminded us what's at stake.
