quote:
ORIGINAL: henny It would probably benefit the GOP to postpone it, as it would extend the "excitement" of the convention to a date that's closer to the election. People are so fickle, that by November, everyone's already forgotten what happened in august anyway. How about canceling it altogether? I'm serious. First of all, they already have their nominee. Secondly, they know they can't top the Democratic Convention, at least as far as sheer spectacle. Third, they can highlight their fiscal conservatism. To me and a lot of voters, it would be a sharp contrast to the Democrats who ate, drank and partied for a week, only to do what they could have done with a press release. One guy chose to shine a light on himself for a week, while the other chose to shine a light on the country instead. It would be a great way for the haters to get over Obama getting all that love in Denver. - Julius
