I hope you're enjoying your theater class right now! I think if you teach english along with drama you could incorporate a lot of elements from one class into the other, and that would be pretty nifty. (Yes, I said nifty ) I didn't even know you could teach high school online. How does that work?

Wow, talk about a lot of stuff to chew?! We had to learn all of Aristole's elements of Theatre, interesting but very confusing! The dude was either way to smart or had too much time on his hands, which one I'm not sure?! And as far as online high school, it is so kids who are for some reason unable to attend high school can still graduate on time, one of my friends found out about it when he broke his leg and was unable to go to school. Basically, it is set up the same as online college, only high school. I thought it would be something worth looking into though, since it would give me more freedom later on in life.

I have often wondered what I would do later when I get married and have kids. I want to be able to stay at home with my children. I also have thought about homeschooling as an option. But I don't know how I would accomplish that working as a full time teacher. It's definitely something to think about...

My mom actually homeschooled my little sister and I until I was in the 10th grade and she was in 3rd, then we enrolled at a christian school near our house. My baby brother has gone to school there since he started school. I really did enjoy being homeschooled though! (And yes, I am older than my siblings quite a bit, 7 years older than my sis, 12 years older than my bro. He and I graduated the same year, me from high school, him from kindergarten?!)

As for homeschooling, my fiancee and his 2 brothers were homeschooled and he loved it! The only problem with them was that their Mom had trouble with some of the higher level material and so they didn't learn that stuff, (mostly upper level math)

Hey, Jennifer! *waves* I didn't know you posted over here in the Young Adult thread. Guess that's where we are at in our lives though. Anyway, for those who don't know me, here's a brief introduction: I'm Megan, wife of a marvelous man, mother of one silly son (5--he's in kindergarten), teacher of students of specials needs (exceptionalities) in grades K-4, and college student (working on a masters in special education). Have a great weekend, everyone!

I had a pretty good weekend, although it didn't start out that way. I slipped and fell in our garage (and I mean legs completely out from under me) and landed on my back. So my back isn't feeling too great. But besides that, I got to spend some quality time with my BF, went to a wedding and played "Something Bigger" with our youth group as a fund raiser. Overall, it was a great weekend :) How about you Jennifer?

I fell this weekend too, but it was on sand, so I didn't hurt myself?! (I really should learn not to show off when we're playing sand volleyball?!?! ) My weekend was fun, I had my friend's birthday party on Saturday, and fellowship night at church on Sunday, all in all it was a good weekend! Hope the rest of you had good weekends too!

Greetings! Seems like a nice chat thread. Name's Reggie, but everyone calls me Ninja. I gather from what's been going on that everyone's given intros, so here's a brief one for me. I'm currently in a transition right now, trying to work to pay off my college debt and save up to for my move to Hillsboro, Kansas. The main reason is that I believe the Lord is leading me to minister to the people there; not that many good churches around so maybe in the future I may start one, but I'm not sure yet and I'm not gonna make that conclusion yet. So, as I prepare for my life I'm just trying to get stuff done here so that I can leave this place behind. I also have a wonderful girlfriend, whom I first met in July of this year, but we met online over a year ago through eharmony. I adore her very much and we are planning to see each other again this Christmas; we're planning a trip to my folks in Charlotte, NC and then we are going to see some of her friends in Atlanta and then I'm going back with her to Kansas for about week or so before coming back to here to work. In the meantime, I'm working for a company, Delta T, that deals in independent contracting for healthcare facilities which also includes schools, hospitals, and other places. I'm being contracted as a para professional for DCPS but I haven't started yet. So, that's my story, in a nutshell. I'm also a Christian of 10 years and am looking to go into full ministry as a pastor in the future. I also love to write and am looking to get something published probably in a couple of years if not sooner.

ORIGINAL: daughter_of_faith Anyone have exciting plans for this week? I don't have much planned this weekend; I was thinking of attending a concert this weekend; it's a band that one of my professor's started a long time ago. He's great and his band is awesome! But, I may not strictly due to cause I may be out late and using public transportation that late it's just not really a good idea. Aside from that nice speculative outting, it's mostly a typical weekend for me. That's just essentially me staying home and doing nothing but playing videogames or watching movies all day and perhaps talking with Helen either online or on the phone. quote:
ORIGINAL: fluffmonkey hello my fellow ninja lol Reggie, its nice to meet ya and welcome to the boards... That is great that you write and are wanting to be a pastor :) Thanks! It's good to be a part of the boards here. Writing is so much fun but I've been mostly writing when I get the edge to do so; my aim for this year was to write more. In a way, I do cause I have an online blog now but in terms of my creative writing I haven't spent much time writing. I did write some things recently and I am working on some other things for the upcoming future, but it's still a stray hobby that do when I'm in the mood to do so. Still, it's tones of fun!!! lol.....As far as a pastor, that one wasn't planned. That's another story that will take much longer to tell, but I'll just say that did confirm that in my life, especially recently way back in May of this year. I have tons of work to do and a long way before I'm ready; it may be sooner when I actually start getting on that course that eventually leads me to it!!!

Jennifer - I love your dress! It is absolutely gorgeous. I adore dresses with lace on them and it has such a pretty shape :) JesusChick - That's so cool that you got to see Rush of Fools! I really like them. I haven't been to a concert in a long time. Jars of Clay, Switchfoot, and Third Day are coming to town in October. I think I'm going to try to go to that show. Ninja - Welcome! We're happy to have you here :) So what kind of stuff do you write?

I think I'm going to try to go to that show. It was really cool, especially since Jamie(the drummer) remembered me from when we saw them in March! Never had that happen before! I can't say the same for not going to a concert in a while, I've already been to about 15 this year!(My dad is addicted to going to concerts too!) So sweet that you are getting to see all those bands, I saw Jars of Clay already this year, but, I love Switchfoot and have never got the chance to see them in concert yet! They came about an hour away from my house this past year, but I was at Aquire the Fire helping with our youth group so I missed them! Hopefully they decide to come back soon!
