Anyone else notice the double standard with this whole Palin sexism thing? I heard Sean Hannity say today something about the Democratics picking on an "innocent woman". I'd like to be able to play back to Hannity all the things he's said about Hillary Clinton that could be viewed as sexist or over the line.

Excuse me, but you do know that Hannity is a commentator and not a news journalist don't you? On the other hand, there are news journalists from the mainstream media that are SUPPOSED to be unbiased yet they can't seem to control themselves.

I've never heard the Democrats say anything close to "how do we beat the ****?" So enough with the double standard. I don't think Palin has endured anything like what Hillary has endured and she never will.

I hope you also know that it was a random person off the street that asked "how do we beat the ****?" and not John McCain that said that. If you haven't heard anybody call Palin a ****, either you are ignoring them or simply aren't aware of them.

Here is commentator Randi Rhodes doing just that: Youtube LINK

You should have put a parental advisory on that link! I had kids here when I played that!!

But then I should Know by now to be wary of how liberal democrats tend to use foul mouthed expletives when sound reason slides from their grasp.

Nice joke... Where did you dig that up from?
Btw you dont know what sexist means do you?

Bob has trouble with other terminology as well but I think he can get the help he needs here. I just hope he is taking notes when we correct him.

Dude, you're joking, right? For Hillary start with Ed Klein (former editor in chief at NY Times) and his best-selling book, The Truth About Hillary Clinton. While you're at it, look at the scathing reviews of it saying that he personally attacks her. Then while you're at it, watch some Rush, Coulter, late night jokes - the pant suit jokes, the lesbian haircut jokes...please!

I'd have to dig for Ferraro since that was so long ago. Pelosi is the same as Hillary - just do a google search. She's constantly made fun of about her plastic surgery.

Attempting to make people like Hillary Clinton and Nancy Pelosi out to be victims is laughable...

I guess I'm not understanding you. You are complaining that the media is hard on Palin - when they have been equally hard on Hillary, Pelosi. You haven't heard Letterman make jokes about Hillary's 'lesbian haircut'? You haven't heard people alledge that Obama has a speech writer. I have heard all of the aforementioend. Please!

Letterman is hardly representative of the media...

I'm not complaining that the media is hard on Palin. I'm complaining about the fact that they are being so trivial about such ridiculous things. They don't criticize men for such things but it would appear that hairstyle, speechwriters and having kids are fair game if you're a woman! It's just plain wrong!

Andfor the record I have not heard Letterman make jokes about Hillary's hairstyle....I don't watch his show, nor have I heard anyone question Obama about a speechwriter. If I had I would have thought that was equally inane! Of course they have speech writers! Doesn't everyone at that level?

That being said I agree that you don't get it! I say it should be unacceptable and your entire response seems to be along the lines of "They do it to Hillary and Nancy Pelosi and other women" so if I follow that line it is acceptable because everyone gets treated shabbily? I don't think so!!

Ok - my apologies then. I thought you meant it that they don't throw these absurdities at men. And this has been going for a long time.

And, I agree with you. They should be talking about issues, not petty things like hair styles, speech writers. I think she'll handle it fine. I disagree with her on some things, but I think McCAin made a great choice - she's very impressinve.

Peace and God bless,

What about it? Only a person living in complete denial or a cave doesn't understand that Hillary Clinton is her own worst enemy...

I'll give you this one, but Clinton was criticized for having an ugly child.

You asked for a representative of the media, and I gave you one, that has criticised Hillary at least....so

So how does that equate to her being criticized simply because she's a woman? You seem to be in denial of how she acts...

Interesting. Please tell me, how is she 'supposed' to 'act'?

I don't really mind the media being hard on Palin. That's expected. And personally, I don't deny that folks on the right have been nasty to women politicians on the left, and I think it's disgusting.

What really, really gets me is the utter hypocrisy of feminists lambasting Palin for accepting the nomination for VP while she has small children to raise. These are the same people who scream about glass ceilings and co-parenting and non-traditional arrangements, and yet they are ripping into Palin for not being a SAHM.

I definitely agree with you there - I don't know what the critics problems are there. Just because she doesn't agree with every stance of theirs? I say - good for her! It just proves that she can think for herself! While I disagree with some stance of Sarah Palin's, I think she rocks and she's a great role model for all women! Obviously, someone that can balance all that, is to be respected. You can plainly see that she has a great relationship with her husband, otherwise they would not be able to have such a beautiful family, very successful job all at the same time.

Geez, I'm only par for the course at my job and I'd love to have a baby (or adopt!). I don't know how she does it!

Peace and God bless,

Of course. I'm not surprised they don't like her. What surprises me is the shameless blatant hypocrisy.
