I just do not understand how some people can be this horribleThis guy wanted to molest a 3 year old it makes me stomach sick just thinking about it. I have a 3 year old and the thought of anything happening to her puts me in a panic. Hurray for that mom and the police though!

First of all, we are all born totally depraved. When that depravity itself becomes depraved you have what happend in this story.

What that man wanted to do IS awful, however, if we understand the true depth of our sin nature, we can easily "understand" how someone can be that bad. When we are the decent people whose sins are only the "average," ones, and we couldn't imagine doing such "big" sins as that, it is only by the grace of God.

Rather than saying we can't understand how the man could do that, we should be down on our knees thanking God for giving us the grace to not be like that (not in a self righteous way, just as in thanking God for his mercies)...and we should pray for protection of all our children.

And I am very thankful the mom turned it over to police and helped they guy get caught..I've actually seen talk show episodes where the mom actually went along and turned the child over for money.

I agree. And its even more sick to know its only a couple of hours from where i live. To know you live close to people that evil is a frightening thing. I pray for this little girl and her family.
My youngest daughter is 6 and i shudder to think of anyone trying to harm her, or my oldest other 2.

The little good news about this horrible incident is that Jeffrey Cornell Lewis is facing federal charges. Since this is now a federal case, hopefully he will not get a slap on the wrist and go through a revolving door that will let him out quick.
