The driver was 23 years old, driving without a license. He's an illegal immigrant from Guatemala. He's been arrested at least 16 different times in the past 5 years, with charges including forgery, fraud, theft, assault, and driving without a license. ICE was supposedly contacted in a few of the cases, but they never bothered showing up to look into it. In Denver, they weren't even called, because the mayor has decided Denver is a "sanctuary city" and the police aren't supposed to call ICE.

And people wonder why more and more people are getting really mad about the illegal immigration fiasco...

When will it be enough?

The guy is a criminal, and for more reasons than being in this country illegally.

The fact that he was allowed to continue to go free SIXTEEN TIMES and commit more crimes simply because this is a "sanctuary city" and they couldn't do anything to him because the mayor decided to tell the police to completely disregard the law is a travesty of justice.

what happens when the appropriate number of workers cannot be found for a "low wage"?

wages go UP.

I look at "fast food" restaurants and retail stores here.....they are considered "minimum wage" jobs, right? hardly. The "market" has pushed the wages of those jobs to well over $10/hour in many cases around here. Thus, making the "minimum wage" quite obsolete.

It is not insinuating that all illegals are killers, drug dealers, etc. but rather prove that NOT ALL ILLEGALS ONLY COME HERE TO WORK AND DO JOBS THAT AMERICANS WON'T DO. Even George Bush said that!

Unemployment is at a 5-6 year high yet we are employing 15 million illegal aliens. Get rid of the illegals and put unemployed people in those jobs.

"Illegal aliens" is not a race. They come from every country, every ethnic group, so you can't call stereotypes of illegals racist (unless the stereotype is that all, say, Bangladeshi people are illegal aliens). Not all illegals are killers, drug dealers, and gang members, but all illegals are criminals, by definition. This is very unfortunate. As I said previously, we need to fix the horribly broken immigration system so that people who are not otherwise criminals, who just want to work, can get here easily, legally, cheaply, and safely, in a way that does not tax our welfare system to the breaking point. At that point, anyone who is *still* illegal has no excuse and most likely has a criminal record, and the number of people that ICE needs to deal with will be drastically reduced.

In Denver alone, the estimated number of illegal immigrant gang members is 12,000. Denver is not really a "gang ridden" city, we don't even really have ghettos in the sense that most people expect. Half the gang members in LA are illegal immigrants. The statistics at http://www.charlotteconservative.com/index.php/2007/05/illegal-immigration-statistics/ are pretty astonishing. 95% of the murder warrants in Los Angeles are for illegal aliens, as are 83% of murder warrants in Phoenix and 86% of murder warrants in Albuquerque. 43% of food stamps are issued to illegal aliens, as are 41% of unemployment checks and 58% of welfare payments. On average, 12 citizens are murdered every day by illegal aliens.

Do you not see why this is a problem? Things cannot keep going this way, and stamping your feet and calling people racist and unChristian whenever they point out that this is a problem is certainly not going to fix it.
