MyCatSmokey2006 -> Do You Take Medication For Osteoporosis/Osteopenia? (9/15/2008 10:39:38 PM) Does anyone here take medication for osteoporosis or osteopenia? I take Fosomax for osteopenia, even though I'm not postmenopausal. I also take vitamin D due to low levels and calcium. (Note to mods: I wasn't sure whether to put this in the personal issues or regular women's only folder, so if I put it in the wrong folder, I apologize.)

I had a total hysterectomy last year at age 35, I know I will have to take medication soon, but don't at this point. How did you decide on Fosomax? Do you happen to know why you have osteopenia?

Since there is a strong family history of osteoporosis, he decided that I should be on Fosomax. He also increased my Vitamin D to 2000 mg a day instead of 400.
