I'm not sure if she has already been discussed in another thread, folder, etc.

But she's usually on the ION network about the time I am drifting off to sleep every night so i don't ever get a chance to watch a whole show.

Just wondering what you guys knew about her theology and doctrine. I know her late husband was a nut, but I see her markerboards behind her with all the Greek and Hebrew on them and wondered if she was different or less insane.

And if there's already a thread about her, someone please direct me to it...

Well if you think her husband was a nutcase then you would say the samething about her.

Dont be impressed with someone just because they have markerboards with greek and hebrew writing on them, because that legitimizes nothing.

Interesting posts, but in no way tells me about her doctrine.

Sorry but the last name (and her late husband's rep) says it all to me. I don't need a 3 AM Bible teacher on the tube anyway.

I think other people, fairly or otherwise, are pretty much saying the same thing in their own way.

I went to her website...There is NO statement of faith posted.

There are several of her sermons posted and other stuff. The OP could probably learn quite a bit about her. But a statement of faith would be at a minimum nice.

I'll say this for her, she's hot for a preacher lady. Nobody can call into question Dr. Scott's taste in women. I've just claimed the mantle of most asinine comment on this thread.

BTW: wouldn't that be a great thread: hottest preacher woman? Imagine the arguments that would start. You'd have those saying its disrespectful to women (untrue, I disrespect TV ministers men or women), you'd have people arguning over the theology of these ministers (turn on TBN or just about any Christian station anytime and odds are very good you'll hear blasphemy and false teaching) and of course the arguments over who's hotter. It would be a hoot. But I don't want to be responsible for spreading discord so I won't start it.

BlindLemon5103 -> RE: Pastor Melissa Scott (9/19/2008 8:38:41 AM)

Would Paula White be in the running for hottest TV preacher woman?

Sound theology is not the issue here, only "hotness". [;)]

What a thread that would be. It would probably get shut down pretty quickly!

Oh yeah. To be honest other than her and Dr. (M) Scott I'm having trouble thinking of nominees.

Yeah I'm sure such a thread wouldn't be long for this world. But it would put that "Britany ????" thread in the music forum (or most of the "Election 2008" threads) to shame for pure epicness (for lack of a better word).

Actually it's her FIRST name that says it all for me. But that's for another thread [;)]

BlindLemon5103 -> RE: Pastor Melissa Scott (9/19/2008 10:19:47 AM)

For it to be an epic thread, someone would have to come up with more than just the two women we mentioned.

Not too many to choose from on TV. There are certainly obscure hot women preachers scattered throughout the country. Add them to the thread / "competition" and include photos.

What other TV women teachers / preachers come to mind? Joyce Meyers? Beth Moore?

The posts must be limited to "hotness" only, not sound teaching.

To be balanced, someone should start a "Good-Looking Pastors" thread!

I find the whole thing both preposterous and humorous. [:D]

BlindLemon5103 -> RE: Pastor Melissa Scott (9/19/2008 10:23:41 AM)

...the aforementioned "Good Looking Pastors" thread is to appease the women who will accuse the potential male author of such a thread of being one-sided and shallow.

I can be as shallow and one-sided as the next guy. But I'm not bold enough to start such a thread!

gaylel1 -> RE: Pastor Melissa Scott (9/19/2008 10:24:02 AM)

Don't get me started on this woman and her late husband--Let's say that she got that postion because of the gravy train her husband left.

redeemedsaint -> RE: Pastor Melissa Scott (9/20/2008 10:09:31 AM)

Wow, her sermons would definately keep my attention[;)] Seriously, I have a problem with women being preachers because the Word does say women should not be shepherding men, but that is another thread.

FYI She has a past in the Pornography business. She went by another name, don't know which one. And no, all those pictures from her past have been removed.

There is also some rumors that she is still sexually active after the death of her husband - been known to have many secret meetings with men friends.

There was some stuff on the web about her history, but what I've read has been removed.

I do fine her teachings interesting. She is intelligent.
