BlessedAngel1983 -> 20 Something & Single-Encouragement Thread (9/16/2008 5:31:04 PM)

Okay, so we had a thread for 30 something and 40 something, but not 20 something. So here it is.

Please follow all TOS rules. Be kind and supportive. Otherwise Lisa will come and get you. [sm=biggrin.gif]

Yipee, a thread especially for the young-uns! Be encouraged, we're more mature than teenagers but still young!! even though I'm probably the oldest 20 something here

Prairiehiker -> RE: 20 Something & Single-Encouragement Thread (9/16/2008 6:55:13 PM)

Hey, Terry, here's an encouragement for ya! Me, Prairiehiker is turning 40 next week. And still single. That should make you feel better, lol. You're half my age, with no wrinkles, and not anywhere near close to having a knee/hip replacement, lol. Never mind dentures! You still have a few years before arthritis starts, and a few more years before the onset of Alzheimer. Me, on the other hand...I've reached mid life crisis, and have passed beyond the Old maid stage. I am now at the "Crazy cat lady" stage.

There, hope you feel better....

WooHoo! Our own thread for 20's people!!! Hmmm....just out of curiosity I looked up average age for men marrying. It appears I will be later than average unless I get married in the next four months.

And I suppose the women's average marrying age was younger than the men's... [&o]

Its quite disheartening. You know when I found out that a girl I used to teach SS to was married, it was a bad day.

OneOfHisJewels -> RE: 20 Something & Single-Encouragement Thread (9/16/2008 9:58:30 PM)

Well, I do wanna tell y'all one encouraging thing...

For me, turning 30 was actually easier than turning 20.....

You see, when I turned 20, I bawled my eyes out because that's the age I had hoped to be when I got married, and I was nowhere near that.

At 30, I was again nowhere near that, but it had never been the age I wanted to be when I got married, so it wasn't as big of a deal, kwim? Plus, I was used to being single by then, plus I was on the recovering side of a severe illness, and I was just glad to be alive.

BlessedAngel1983 -> RE: 20 Something & Single-Encouragement Thread (9/17/2008 12:30:57 PM)

I'm sure it is, after all, girls mature younger than boys, or so I've heard. [:D]

BlessedAngel1983 -> RE: 20 Something & Single-Encouragement Thread (9/17/2008 2:44:59 PM)

Ok girlies here is a tip. Always try to look your best. It makes you feel better and gives you more confidence.

*giggles* I have seen that one proved before!!
So, I'm almost twenty, I lack a few months, can I still hang out with you guys?

BlessedAngel1983 -> RE: 20 Something & Single-Encouragement Thread (9/17/2008 2:51:31 PM)

Of course!

Sad as it is for me to say, my 20's are halfway over. [sm=crystreams.gif]

jesuschick247 -> RE: 20 Something & Single-Encouragement Thread (9/17/2008 2:57:42 PM)

Well, then that means you're smarter than me! *giggles* I am afraid even when I am older I will never be able to totally grow up?!?!

BlessedAngel1983 -> RE: 20 Something & Single-Encouragement Thread (9/17/2008 4:04:35 PM)

Trust me honey, you may get older, but you never have to grow up. Having that "Peter Pan" quality is highly attractive in some ways.

That's good! Considering that I spend majority of my time with kids and teens, I guess being young at heart can be beneficial! I just sometimes wish that I didn't spend every single friday night going and helping at some youth function by myself, but it's cool! Prince Charming is lurking out there somewhere, God just hasn't sent him yet! LOL![:D]

sunluvingirl -> RE: 20 Something & Single-Encouragement Thread (9/17/2008 4:44:35 PM)

Of course you're welcome here, chick! And BTW, I hope you or any teenagers here don't take it personal when I said us 20 somethings are more mature than teenagers! I'm afraid I'm not always very mature, but oh well! [:D] We are only as old as we feel!

That's not good since sometimes I only feel about sixteen?!?!?! LOL!! And no harm done, I have all guy friends pretty much, so you learn to take NOTHING personal?!LOL!![8D][8D]

BlessedAngel1983 -> RE: 20 Something & Single-Encouragement Thread (9/17/2008 4:48:54 PM)

Yeah, I act like a teenager sometimes too. Some of my fave people to hang with are still in high school. At the same time I have some older friends who I love hanging with. It all goes back to different layers of your personality.
