Hope they do collect lots of human's milk and donate to human babies dying from starvation in poor countries.

Besides, ice cream is not the only thing made from cow's milk.. butter , yogurt, cheese, and tons of other things..

I'd be willing to try it, once.

Honestly, it's not any grosser than drinking cow breastmilk or goat breastmilk (sorry folks, that's what it is, milk is not made in labs!).

However, I think Adriana's idea is much better. If you're going to collect breastmilk, send it to the starving babies who can really benefit from it.

This is what would happen. If this becomes common and a majority of Ben and Jerry's or other ice creams are made from human breast milk, the dairy farmer will get less for his milk.

He will then put more milking cows on, causing them more stress to produce. This "plan" will only put more cows "at risk", not less.

Just your same ol' idiot liberalism that never works in the real world.

No, that's just a little too weird for me. I'll admit, I did once use some of my own in pancakes once and didn't tell anyone, but that would just be too weird. Breastmilk is for babies.

First of all, no, I don't think ice cream is a good use of human breast milk. I also don't think ice cream is a good use of goat breast milk or soy. ([:'(] on the soy ice cream.) God gave us cows for us to have milk, ice cream and cheese. Yum.

Second of all, for those of you living outside central Texas, there is some bizarre notion there that Blue Bell makes the best ice cream. They don't, but it's widely believed. And those of us in other parts of Texas have had to stand by and watch our favorite, better, ice cream being taken away and replaced by Blue Bell. [sm=crystreams.gif]

That's news to me!....Iam a guy who has at least 3-4 half gallons of Blue Bell in the freezer at any given time....get below 2, and the "alarms" go off!

Blue Bell Rocks! (sure,there are other "super-premium" ice creams that may be better..like Ben & Jerry's or whatever)....but, Iam talking about "standard" grocery store brands....not the "boutique" brands...

I haven't seen the question asked yet, but how do the mothers and babies feel about this? What are the babies supposed to ingest instead of what Mom naturally gives? Are we to sacrifice kids for cows?

Back on topic:
Ice cream is made from (you guessed it) CREAM.
I don't know about anyone else, but when I was lactating, there wasn't enough cream in my milk to make ice cream.

Maybe ice milk?

But made from human milk?
Definitely a 10 on the yuck scale for me.[:'(]
