DUH! Why didn't I suggest that!!!!

Cindy - We just finished The Three Musketeers today, so I'm envisioning a logo with 3 people in musketeer garb crossing mops or brooms or something cleaning related!

Well, I ordered my levity!! We got all we could today finished! We need to catch a cricket or 2 (or go buy some) for our science experiment!

You can buy crickets at the pet store.

Wow, my son would like any experiment that involved crickets! We buy them quite often, for his geckos. They eat them so fast. Hubby ended up buying canned meal worms to supplement.

I rested/napped a little. I think I feel worse! Not good, as hubby and I are going to Cincy to clear up the partial tree that we lost in the storm, and we are going alone, as Monday is our anniversary (kiddos are staying with my sis-in-law). It is supposed to be a fun weekend. Oh well.
Of course, I am not taking vitamins or doing anything to boost my immune system.

Sure! Free gecko food for me, free exterminating for you! A win-win situation!

I am such a dum-dum. You would think since it was dark enough that I felt like I needed my headlights, that it would be dark enough that I would realize they were on when I parked the car and came into the house, but no...now poor Nate had to hightail it on his bike to basketball practice (and he'll be late) while I sit here waiting for my sister's b/f to come give me a jump.

His... I ditto what Jen said, go for Teaching Textbooks if it can work out for you financially and if you have a computer. I don't know what grades your kids are, but my boys are doing grades 7 & 5 and the computer grades their work for them. I AM LOVING IT!!! Dd does gr. 8, but she checks her own work. I'm trusting that she is being honest about it.

Thanks for the encouragement again!! I feel better about Noah's teeth tonight. It was just so hard to see him so groggy and not eating all day yesterday and most of today. I felt like I put him through way too much yesterday. He is doing much better tonight and acting more himself and smilling again . I saw another little boy with rotten teeth today. He must of been somewhere between 2 and 3 yrs old. I guess I am happy that we were able to get them fixed.

This week has been so busy and next week will be also. The older kids all have dentist appt, so does Dh. Dh also has eye and doc. appt. He always wants me to go with..... I hope he can just go himself this time.

Today is just so beautiful here!!!

Jenny-Fair--ahhhh..... no idiot buzzer on your lights??? I hated that about my old van! My new van is great because it has automatic lights. Bummer when I drive dh's car, though, because I have to turn those on/off. And there's no idiot buzzer.

Why, oh why must ds4 savor his grammar??? He's supposed to go to a sleep-over birthdya party this weekend. He's been talking about it for a good month now. However, if he isn't caught up with schoolwork, he's not going. But, but, how is he supposed to get caught up??? Uh, start by doing your work?!

Jen, I leave the lights on in the truck all the time. It doesn't ding at me when I shut the engine off, so I don't think about it. The worst time is if it's raining - PA has a law that if your wipers are on your headlights must be also, even if it's fairly bright outside. Then I totally forget they're on. Fortunately the truck has a big honkin' battery that'll last quite awhile before it dies. If I leave them on at home, we have a battery charger. If I leave them on while I'm out, I'm rarely away from the car long enough to totally drain the battery.

We had another showing on our house today. I have not heard anything yet. (I receive an e-mail with feedback after showings, as the listing agent.) Not sure if that is good news or bad... but if someone is going to make an offer, it might take a day or so to hear something.
With all the economic stuff on the news, it is going to be harder than ever to sell. But I know that God is more than capable to sell our house in any situation!

Cindy, I asked about your truck, since we would love to buy one. But until the house sells, we probably won't be able to make that type of purchase anyway, oh well.

I have a big pocket of fluid in the joint where I cut my finger last week. It's annoying. It's not infected. It's been there quite a few days, though, so I got some hallway medicine (I stuck it under my tox doc's nose ). Doc says it doesn't look that bad, but if I don't have full range of motion once the fluid's gone down, or if the fluid doesn't go down in the next few days, I have to go see somebody. I don't want to go see somebody because that will most likely involve several somebodies (my doc will send me for xrays and to an ortho) and I just don't have time. So if you all could pray for my finger to shrink, I'd appreciate it.

Praying for your finger to shrink, Cindy.

Since you're here...can I ask you something?

Is a largish hard lump behind my ear indicative of anything serious? I just now noticed it, I guess it's about the size of a raised dime.

duh...lump not lumb

no fever..not painful...it's itchy, but not on the bump, more above it (I'm wearing a head band and that was making the itch....that's how I noticed the bump).

We usually tell parents to watch that kind of thing and see the doc if it's there for longer than a week.

Oh, and thank you very much. I never know when to worry about stuff with myself, I'm so used to worrying about everyone else's health around here.

Bless you.

Cool.

My dum-dumness was hereditary. Nate realized, when he was trying to get to basketball while the van was dead in the water, that his bike needed air in one tire. So he takes my car keys to open the trunk (since the button won't work), puts them in his pocket, pumps up his tire, and leaves. Yes...with my keys.

So my sister and her b/f pull up to jump start the van and I have to look all over for the extra set.

Really, extra car keys should have a home and stay there. That's my tip for the day!

I have all my extra keys in one of two places. However, we only have two keys to the van. One on my ring, the other on dh's. This is due to the fact that keys are over $120 each! I don't need a spare key that bad.

They are probably electronically programed for the car.

Yeah, ours cost $100 each, so we only have the two that came with the car. Crazy! We used to have one that was programmed for the car, then one that would just open the doors (not unlock them or anything) but that type is not available for this car. Yikes!

We ran into that expense when we wanted to get extra keys for the van. We couldn't afford that so we had a regular key made, no microchip. It wouldn't run the van, but it could be used to unlock the door if the keys got locked inside. We bought one of those hide-a-key pouches and stuck it behind the grill. We never needed it, but it was nice to know we had a way to get in, and no one could use it to steal the van if they found it.

That is a great idea! They told us (at the dealership) that if someone tries to make a copy, then drive the car, the car will stall after a few seconds. Then on the third attempt, the doors will lock.
But if we need one just to unlock that doors, then that should be fine!
