ORIGINAL: moses2002 I think the Ibrahim, Moses, Jesus, and Mohammad are the prophets and the messengers from the God. I believe that all prophets like brothers and they said "There is no God but Allah". If you want more information click this: http://www.aroadhome.org/c3_en.html O.K., we have Abraham, Moses and Jesus as prophets in the Bible. To a certain extend they may even be classified as the brotherhood of prophets. Then there`s John the Baptist. Could he also be included in this list? We`ll put him before Jesus because he was born before Jesus was and Jesus had this to say about John the Baptist in Luke 7:28. "I tell you, among those born of women there is no one greater than John;" So from this we can conclude that John the Baptist was even greater a prophet than Abraham and Moses. Now when asked if he, John the Baptist, was "THE PROPHET" in John 1:21, referring back to Moses`s prophecy from Deut.18:15 "The LORD your God will raise up for you A PROPHET like me from among your own brothers. You must listen to Him.", John the Baptist replied "NO" no, no, no. So if John the Baptist was greater than Abraham and Moses, but not "THE PROPHET" then who can be this "THE PROPHET" that is even greater then John the Baptist? John refers to this Prophet as being even greater then himself in John 1:27 as "He is the one who comes after me, the thongs of whose sandals I am not worthy to untie." [sm=icon_smile_question.gif] Who is John talking about? John the Baptist introduces us to this "THE PROPHET" in John 1:29. "The next day John was JESUS coming and said, Look, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world!" This Prophet is JESUS. Now why is He even greater than Mohammed, or John or Moses or Abraham? Jesus died for my sins. Mohammad or the other prophets never died for my sins. Jesus can forgive my sins if I believe, trust and confess my sins to Him. Mohammad is dead and can`t forgive anybodies sins today. Jesus claimed to be the Son of God, equal with God and the Savior of the world. Mohammad never claimed to be a God or equallity with God. Jesus is alive today and mediating for those who believe in Him at God`s very right hand as we speak. [sm=icon_smile_question.gif] With no disrespect for the prophet Mohammad, yet if you were to choose between the two, Jesus or Mohammad, who would you base your eternal destiny on? The living or the dead.
