ORIGINAL: tenfour Where in the Bible does it actually say marriage is only between one man and one woman? It is only specifically discouraged for leaders in the church. I think that in general, polygamy leads to a lot of heartache and jealously, but it's not technically unchristian. It needs to be illegal in our country because it's the only way to really protect the girls in the cults that practice polygamy along with forced marriage. Okay, so I hope I'm not out of topics...but its a biblical question and I wanted to answer it. 1 Corinthians 7:2 Now concerning the things about which you wrote, it is good for a man not to touch a woman. But because of immoralities, each man is to have his own wife, and each woman is to have her own husband. The husband must fulfill his duty to his wife, and likewise also the wife to her husband. Those verses are written in singular form. It would be "unchristian" for someone to be polygamous. Especially since God stopped that in the Old Testament. As for the original post, that is a very difficult situation and I would pray to God before making that decision. But I want to know if these girls are Christians?

ORIGINAL: Memaw. I've been thinking about this scenario since I first saw this thread. My questions would be, What if one wants a child, the other doesn't? What if one wants to marry, the other doesn't? If they both marry, would it be to one man, or two men? If there are two husbands, would DNA tests need to be performed if pregnancy occurred to determine which husband fathered? I have watched their 16 yr old video and they talk about how they will touch each other asking, can you feel that, so I know their body is "separated" in areas, but there is only one "private area" to their body. I think since they're two different people, they'd marry two separate men. I think the way they're conjoined makes it complicated though. I'll never really know how they think about it, but if they share a pelvis and reproductive organs, they have to use one set of organs for both separate girls...and it seems odd when it comes to sexual things. I'm not sure how their sensations are, but it seems like if they both married two different men, the men would be sharing the same body...and if one wanted to get pregnant but the other didn't, then that'd be a problem. And even if one did the other a "favor" of agreeing to have a baby, think about what can go wrong that could kill both of them....etc etc etc. But how would they know who the mother was if they only had one womb?

I think it's ok for them to have a desire to marry but for now they are young and should just enjoy life. The following is from this link http://www.twinstuff.com/twinswithtwins.htm There is even at least one example of conjoined twins who married a non-conjoined pair of twins. Simplicio and Lucio Godino, conjoined twin brothers who were born in the Phillipines in 1908, married a pair of identical twin sisters, with whom they performed on Vaudeville. The Godina Twins (seen in the picture below) died within a few days of each other in 1936 and it is not known what happened to their wives.
