Well, I'm glad I'm on the right track. I've got some of the books for the girls.
Can't get them a card or voucher. I live in a different country and don't have a credit card to be able to get it over the net.

Yes, I have. And one thing that really bugged me about it was the fact that she was so in love with him that nothing else really mattered. She was willing to do ANYTHING to be with him (in the second book she's willing to give up even her soul). Not a very healthy attitude, and definitely not one that young girls should be immersed in.

I've just recently found another good series for young girls. The first book is called Hollywood Nobody. It is published by a Christian publisher, but the book itself is not as much about an overtly Christian message as it is about good clean entertainment for girls. It's exciting, interesting, and presents a positive message about being yourself and not following everyone else.

Is that Lisa Samson's YA series? Her books for adults are awesome. But you'd never want to do a marathon of them, they're too heavy emotionally.

I saw an article yesterday that said Pres. Elect Obama has read the whole Twilight series to his 10 yo daughter! Now, I realize she's likely a very intelligent girl - but IMO that's way age-inappropriate! I was just thinking, though, that like Harry Potter, the movies are going to drive the age of interest down further.
