I really really like clothing. They are good because they keep me from walking aropund in my underpants lol! No really ! I like clothes. I like to make my own although I have no time or sewing machine atm. I like beads on clothes, they take a long time to serw on but I really like them. I once made my own belly dancing outfit (when I was a belly dancer in the old days) and I got into a course with it. It took me 7 days and nights to finish it.

Today I am wearing jeans and my cowboy boots (real, originals, not fashion ones) and I have a purple top with a grey vest and my celtic metal cross around my neck. Usually I get dressed more radically but today I was in a hurry.

Also my hair is frizzy when I do nothing with it. I put product in it to be quick and get out of the house and the product brings out my natural curls. I haven't got much patience with hair. Occasionally some gay bopys fuss over it and they do a great job. Otherwise it doesn't get much treatment. I only wear make up sometimes, though I like to wear mosturiser every day.

I have a favourite belt. It has bullets on it and looks great with my cowboy boots. i also like hats though I don't wear them often. I do wear my hair up often because I train a lot and because I don't want to offend the angels.

I really like dresses with beads or lace. White and silver is my favourite at the moment as my taste changes often. When I look at fsshion I can see that classics always come back in. The two tone shoes are back in. Pin stripes are always in. Classic cuts, likewise.

I noticed thast when my father died my brother went and picked up all his stuff and started wearing his clothes. He got more compliments from those clothes than he did with his brand new clothes. 40 yrs ago they wore cool clothes. Now there seems to be such a confused mixture that people haven't really got many clues about fashion. the poor boys and girls getting around with more crack than Cuba showing and those tight jeans that make you incompetent, not to mention make your figure look terrible . The rag a doll dresses (don't get that at all).

What are you wearing now?

Anyway not purposely trying to make any judgement statements. Just interested in what people like to wear.

I like vests and jeans and dressing them up. I mostly wear casual clothes but I like to dress them up. I don't like to wear stilettos often because they are bad for your feet and posture if you wear them all the time. I like to wear shorts or gladiator skirts with leggings. I have some black leggings and grey ones. I also have a pair of canary yellow ones which I wear with a grey top.

Interesting how fashion is becoming much of what it was 50 years, even a hundred yrs ago. I realise it is more important to get the inner person right and more important but I have always liked fashion. God made the first fashion statement with the skins He made for Adam and Eve. I think He would've made them look good too.

So God is OK with fur? Tell that to PETA.

On an average day I wear blue jeans, and a T shirt. As it gets colder I add a sweater. I own a few pairs of pants that are not jeans, more dressy. Maybe 4 or 5 times a year I'll wear a dress, but not often, just for dress up, going out to dinner or a Christmas celebration.

I like nice quality stuff such as cashmere and silk, but cannot afford it at the stores. I have my favorite thrift shops where I can get nice things at $8 or $10.

My most individual fashion statement is costume jewelry. You wear some stunning sterling silver or rhinestones from the 1950's and people will comment on it. Some costume jewelry is absolutely beautiful, yet affordable.

I usually wear jeans and cute teeshirts.
However I have been known to wear some funky skirts
such as bohemian style,or flashy to church.

So do I. I am the middle child and I am used to getting my sister's hand me downs. She spends up big on clothes but is a little straight for my taste. She is very conservative in style, she calls me wild woman . She also has larger hoofers than me and we have also grown quite apart. Actually come to think of it she is not really close friends with anyone and she seems miserable to me. Last time I saw her she was doing the high and mighty trip with her brand new Bentleigh . I give her heaps. She wants to crawl under the table with some of the stuff I say . I like it . Anyway she is a fashion victim and sometimes she gives me something she no longer wears though I never ask and don't expect it. (I may stop taking it because last time I was wearing a Versace jacket and she commented how it used to be hers and I don't like that. I would rather wear a potato sack).

Yes I have found many a treasure at an op shop (we call them opportunity shops here). Often I wear something I found there and get compliments from rich people who wouldn't know the difference if it hit them. I am also fortunate to be sample size in both shoes and clothing because I get more of a choice of sample clothes as they are usually my size. I also like to wear one offs. As soon as someone else gets it, suddenly it is not so nice anymore.

Today I wore a mini with pink and grey flowers and swirls (can't remember what those swirls are called, they have a proper name) with a grey top and vest and grey leggings with my cowboy boots (Cuban heel) . Oh yeah, I also wore my pearls. I like pearls, they remind me of children somehow. One day I want to make clothing for some children who have no one to love them. Bright coloured ones, specially made with love.

Green is getting quite popular. It is a very healing colour.

Wild Rose how do you get that photo bucket thing up? I'll have to investigate. I like computers but they are so complex that I lose patience.

I like fish nets because they are better to wear than stockings. I like nice materials as well. Silk or Linen or cotton, natural stuff and fish nets, they are not good material like silk or cotton but they don't make you feel like a sausage .

What are your dresses like? Do you think the fashion is returning to what it was? It seems like that happens and not only with fashion but with music as well .

Oh, Photobucket is easy, and free. You just open an account at photobucket.com From your digital camera you put the photos on your computer, and from your computer you upload the photos into your account on Photo bucket. And you can set up different sections, such as business (I sell on eBay) personal photos, Pets, house, garden etc however you want to divide up your photos to keep them organized.

Then when you want to show someone a picture you just have to copy and paste the link.

An added advantage is that if your computer ever dies, you have your pictures already saved on an outside source.

Do stockings make you feel like a sausage?

Thinking about fashion victims:
About a month ago in Sydney, they had a stiletto race. Women in heels racing and for me it looked ridiculous. I can imagine what their backs and feet will look like in 20 yrs time and it don't look pretty. I hear women putting implants or shots of botox in the ball of their foot so they can wear them more. Sad really. Sad and tragic that they should be so over rated. Tragic that men (including Christians. At times they are the main offenders) esteem them so much; as they are bad for you to wear every day and they are not practical. I wear them sometimes. Very rarely though. I prefer to be healthy than to sacrifice that to look sexy.

Perhaps it's not so safe to post what you are wearing today. If you talk about what you wore today and what you have in your wardrobe it is safer. Just in case there are any sickos lurking.

Best clothes I ever tried on are my heavenly clothes. They are the shmick of the cou de gras (just means the best of the cool , just made that up ). Can't wait to get them clothes on me for good ! Till then I can play with clothes that try to be .

I think it is important to look nice---and that can be done inexpensively. So, yeah, I try to look my best each and every day.

Today I'm wearing green cords, a sage green wb shirt, and a pretty green/teal/blue hoodie. I live where it gets cold and our days are getting colder now so soon I will be breaking out my sweaters.

Oops, nope. Not me. Mine is unique patterns and designs on the sweaters and earrings I've designed myself (only sometimes).

I have just recently taken a class in wire wrapping beads to make jewelry. On eBay you can buy beautiful glass beads or agate stones for $5 or so. The you just need a little silver wire to make earrings or a pendant. A fun hobby. and an individual fashion statement.

I wore a striped blue, white and black jumper dress and black leggings with a silver belt and silver Roman sandals with my cross closer to my neck. It's on a stringy thing (member of God squad gave it to me at an ordination I happened to turn up to out of the blue without knowing it was on). I wore my hair up. I spend a little time on my hair and face and all that but not much. If I have to look good then I put on make up to be special but I would rather not have it on my skin. I can handle mascara because the sort I have crumbles off and a little eye liner and mostly I put that on at work (if I remember). Otherwise I am a bit of a punk I guess (though sometimes I surprise everyone with a more conservative look). Though there are many punks at my work and they think I am quite conservative, though I did buy my first pair of Doc Martens the other day. They are silver shoes and I saw them from far away and that was it. I had to have them. I walked past the other day and they have these black ones with roses on them (I soooo like roses, long story). Had to walk away. I have too many shoes taking up space in my study.

Today I'll wear scrubs and tennis shoes again, just like every work day. But I do get cute scrubs that are fitted for women and not the generic unisex ones that make me look like a box.

I have a closet full of cute things ranging from very casual jeans to dressy dresses (and LOTS of shoes!!!) and I love wearing every style, depending on the occasion. I'm a bargain shopper and I also love to sew, so I can have a great wardrobe without spending big $$$$$.

Scrubs? What are those? Never heard of scrubs. Seen a few scrubbers in the street (people) but none that you can wear .

I have a lot of cute things too. I have a lot of crochet tops and some which are and with sequins. Then I have army and cowboy boots as well which is a contradiction. The boys don't whether to flirt with me and give me the eye or to look away in case I throw them a cut lunch (punch).
I am quite feminine but some aspects of me are very masculine and it comes out in my clothes.

Gotta share my reservations now;things I don't like: I can't bring myself to liking red. I see someone wearing red and their face distorts and I have to force myself not to make judgement. This is also true of leopard print. They both remind me of sin and as far as fashion goes look real tacky to me. Dresses which look like rags (women wear them and think they look good but to me they look like rags). It was a fashion thing last year; clothes which are crinkled or not ironed on purpose, though they don't affect me as much as the red and leopard prints. Mind you I used to wear red a lot. It was one of my faves. Those boots that are supposed to look like Indian boots but just look like cheap copies; everyone is wearing them . Pointy toes on shoes. I much prefer a more rounded toe or one without such a point. Also this male shoe that looks like a ducks foot. Can't they see what they look like? I walk around the street laughing my head off and people think I am a little loopy but that's ok with me . A cool weirdo .

If someone wears red or leopard skin or wrinkles or ducks feet I feel quite sorry for them and if the time is right I try to convert them . If they are rich and got labels on the outside I also feel very sorry for them. Gotta be something wrong when you pay 2,000 for a handbag and they turn you into a walking billboard for their name. Very uncool! May as well put "post no bills" on your forehead and get around like that. I thought people paid to advertise their stuff not the other way around . I feel very sorry for those people.

It's spring time here and starting to get hot. What shall I wear today?

Another day ... another pair of shorts (orange striped) and another tank top (orange solid).

Gosh, I'm boring, huh?

My fashion is pretty boring too. Solid pants or capris in black, grey, or brown with a patterned or textured top in either soft pastel or darker, muted shades. Pants are usually bootcut and tops are usually somewhat flowy and long or button down and have 3/4 or long sleeves. Same ol', same ol' for me.

Oh! But my socks are ever-changing. I have a variety of patterned and printed socks (hardly any that are a solid color) and will wear them with any outfit. They're my one creative-outlet in regards to fashion.

Sorry, Giulia, but if you're talking about Keen's (shoes) then I wear 'em. I thought they were grotesque when I first saw them but they are very comfortable and the older I get, the more comfort matters. They have a wider toe bed (hence the ducky appearance) but they feel soooo good.

Anyway, I agree with the leopard prints. Don't like them except on the animal.

And as much as I enjoy dressing nicely, I do hope jeans never go out of fashion. They are by far my favorite.

Yeah lol! It was really the guys shoes they're wearing that I meant. Yes I like jeans as well. So if you think you're boring why don't you jazz it up a bit?
I wore a flowing short green and brown skirt with light brown leggings and a dark brown tank under a light brown one with pearls and my cross (I wear that nearly every day), then my cowboy boots and bullet belt ( from the gun shop). Not sure how I'd go in an airport with those but there is no powder in the cases. I got told I look pretty today. Perhaps they were scared I had my gun and they were trying to get sweet with me lol! .

quote:

Giulia, but if you're talking about Keen's (shoes)

That name doesn't sound familiar, except mustard which goes by that name.

There you go. I am quite boring when it comes to my socks, though I do have a pair of rainbow coloured ones with ladybug toes which I wear sometimes , just hard to find other clothes to wear with them so they are lonely in my drawer at the moment .

Orange is a good colour. I like orange. It's not red and still bright. I like bright colours. They are in nature so often.

I am grateful to be able to chose my own clothing rather. I cycle everywhere at the moment. I also Rollerblade a lot. I don't like the cycle clothing in lycra. In fact I find it hard to wear lycra because my skin doesn't breathe.

The business of recycling clothing should be more cultivated, I think. Imagine all the great clothes you can make from material which would otherwise just be refuse or land fill? The mind boggles. I feel less responsible for the waste on the earth if I wear something pre-loved (I don't always). Cycling everywhere also gives me that assurance that I am less responsible for the pollution in the earth.

I like to dress up. Even if i am just dressing casually. In prison I used to decorate my white king gees. With my green ones I put a lot of blue, different shaped patches and they looked great. People started to copy me then it got out of control. People started to die them purple and paint panther heads on them. Then we got pulled up.

I like patches on old, casual clothes. Dressing them up with lace or beads.

On a different note, do you think these glasses make me look intelligent? Just a 2 pixel photo from my phone.

It wasn't so much the glasses that I notice, it was the fact that you had your hair tied back. Hair makes a fashion statement too. Let it flow!

I ride 17 kms to work. By the time I get there I am a bit messy. Also I like to wear my hair up when I am serious. My pastor used to tell me it doesn't offend the angels so much. Now I realise that the head covering is what makes the angels not be offended, but not always. Just when talking about God. My hair is very difficult to manage. Sometimes I scrunch it and put product in it so the curls don't frizz. As I said: when I have to take authority or be taken seriously I wear it up. I met a woman at a screenwriters conference; she had wonderful curls. We spoke about it because many people I know spend hours in front of the mirror straightening it and there are not many hairdressers who know how to make the natural curl stop from frizzing. There are many African hair shops here and she told me they fixed it for her and showed her how to do it with product. None of the hair dressers in Toorak knew what to do but the Africans in Sydney rd Brunswick did (Toorak is a rich suburb where the rich and famous hang out, Brunswick is for people like me:working class) I'll have to pop in to see them when I get some time.

Nice beads. I have some brown ones like your blue ones. I also have a kit which my brother bought me for Christmas because he knows I like beads as well. Just haven't had time to do anything with them yet.

I used to have a best friend in Morocco, as a girl and when I went and stayed with her I came back with a lot of amber beads. They also had a distinct smell.

I like clothing of every nationality and I also like some styles they used to wear in the old days. I had psychedelic flares and platforms. real clog hoppers. I had a pair of saddle shoes and plenty of shorts and minis. Sometimes I go to the ramps in the city and with leggings on the skirt just tops it. Don't like to wear leggings on their own.
