Ok... I normally wear cotton clothing... flat-front straight-legged pants and shaped, button-down shirts layered with fine-gauge jewel-neck cotton cardigans or sleeveless tanks, depending on the temperature. I try to keep neutral and solid items to pair with more interesting prints or beaded tanks. It's really hard to find interesting cotton cardigans... most of the cute ones are fake fibers. My pants are different weights of cotton and range from jeans to cords to satin finished twills.

My best colors are reds and blues... sorry, Giulia.

I almost always have Clark's or Aerosoles on my feet, if they aren't bare. Some Clark's are a bit chunky, so I try to buy their more feminine versions. I wouldn't be caught dead in flip-flops or Crocks... and would probably have a heat stroke if I tried Uggs (which I would only wear out of necessity if I lived in a freezing cold environment.)

I always wear earrings and my engagement/anniversary ring set. I find that necklaces too often fight (visually) with the neckline of my shirt and that bracelets are impractical. I often make necklaces so they fall in the proper place, but I'm fine without a necklace... Earrings are my signature jewelry.

It took me years, but I've finally made peace with my wavy hair. I now have a style that takes two minutes to dry/style. I love having a stylist that works with my hair instead of encouraging me to spend an hour fighing with it each morning. BTDT... and I'm not going back.

I wear natural looking make-up and forego mascara due to eye infections. Eyeliner gives almost the same effect as mascara if applied properly. Occasionally, I dye my lashes black, but it doesn't last long and I don't do it very often.

I don't mind what others do in fashion as long as they are clean and do what's best for their own body type and size. I'm not interested in seeing people in clothing that's the wrong size for them or that cause disproportion. I'm not a big fan of gaudy, either... meaning, hair color that doesn't occur in nature with roots showing or makeup that isn't an enhancement to beauty. I don't like to see others look unkempt... I just don't get the rage amongst people (men or women) to grow long hair and then let it hang limp, oily, and frizzy. I'd like to see others take pride in their natural beauty and wear themselves with confidence, in short... as long as they are doing what compliments their own beauty, I have no pet peeves.

I like prints of the same colour, looks like tapestry or something but it's part of the material. I like long jackets and pin striped suits. I try to get some of the Muslim women I know to wear stuff to jazz up what they are wearing. One woman I know covers herself completely. Only can see her eyes and she wears black. I have been trying to encourage her to wear different colours. Yes we also discuss God and I know the Muslim faith as I was once one myself. Can get some really groovy long dresses if that's your thing. My other Muslim friend bought some of the same skirts I bought when she saw them on me. She wears pants underneath instead of leggings. Haven't seen her for ages. I showed her this site and told her to get involved in discussion. Not sure if she did. I like gloves. I like boxing gloves of different colours. I got a pair of brown ones. I got them because they were Jim Bradely and they were small and sitting on the shelf and I told the guy at the shop that he'd never sell them, that they were the wrong colour and no one would buy small gloves. They fitted me just right and I persuaded him they were so ugly and that I'd take them off him for a discount and he gave them to me cheaper . I like them now. I have a pair of white ones with lace only they are 8oz gloves and they cut people easily so I don't wear them. I wear pink shorts and either a purple top or a white one with white shorts. Sometimes I wear pants, depends how cold it is. I like crepe material and silk and cotton and linen. Don't like microfibre but so many clothing is microfibre these days. I get fussy sometimes and tell the shop keeper to give me the most natural clothes they have. They think I've come from a different planet. Never try to be difficult, just want the most natural. They tell me this is the best in the shop (when a family member insists to buy me something), I tell them I don't care, I don't like the material.

Not sure how I ever lasted so long in ballet and gymnastic. That lycra made me feel like I couldn't move I was so conscious of it and it reminds me of that microfibre.

I have discovered clothes again since I started working at the beginning of this year.

I love straight lines and things which fit to the body. I really can't stand clothing which feels like a sack.

Last weekend I even bought a fascinator to wear to Melbourne Cup Day at work. I don't follow the races at all but I'm not going to miss out on the one chance a year to wear pretty clothes to work rather than going corporate.

Guilia, we get a fair number of Muslim women who wear a full covering come through work. Some of them wear the most spectacular laces on their head coverings.

Do you talk to them? Of course one of the first thing I wanted to know was whether this guy she's seeing has seen her face . The response was that he does. He goes to the families place and she takes it off. They take it off if they are all women and doing exercise or something as well.

I noticed that when I spotted her on the street she was not as friendly to me. It was like she didn't want to know me. A lot more distant and didn't introduce me to her friends or anything. Even seemed quite embarrassed about me.

I like pencil skirts and nice jumpers. A set of flat shoes or boots (depending on the weather). I like lace very much on clothes. I like nice buttons and I like clown clothing as well. Have you ever seen Pulcinella and Arlechino? They are two Italian characters who perform on the street to quite good music and they draw a crowd. Their clothing is classic and many fashion patterns have been taken from those two.

My whole job is about talking to people. In fact, sometimes I have to find out really personal information I'd really rather not have known about them, but then I wouldn't be able to help them as much if I didn't know these things.

I wore a new shirt to work today. I love it when something which didn't cost very much gets huge compliments. I bought the shirt I was wearing for $11 on EBay, including the postage.

I don't like buying on ebay because I can't try the stuff on and I can't see it up close. Yes I really like it when something which didn't cost much gets huge compliments. Funny cause that has happened with many of the things which have been cheaper to buy, with me.

Ok can I ask what you do? I have to ask really personal questions as well but I am not allowed to offer counsel, so I refer or make suggestions. Sometimes I get people who cry to me or tell me other things. I have had to make reports at times. I work in social research, mainly doing interviews for government depts (doing one for the dept of human services atm, another for the cancer council and another for worksafe insurance, another gov dept) and I also translate. Many of the people I talk to are lonely or lost.

Today it is going to be 28 degrees Celsius and it is going to rain. At least that's what the weather man says, though I often make my own judgement and find I do a better estimation than the weather man. Hate that! When it is hot and raining. Don't know what to wear. I might wear a black pinafore dress with a zip in the back, heart buttons and frilly sleeves with silver shoes.

I work in employment. If someone isn't work ready I have to know enough information to send them for an assessment to verify that.

I'm careful with my EBay purchases. I only buy clothes where the pics show all sides of the garment and have a good description (including bust and waist measurements) and I only buy from sellers who have 100% and over 50 sales.

I wear jeans and a fitted t-shirt most days (long-sleeved in winter, short-sleeved in summer). When I dress up, I wear a nice skirt or slacks and a blouse. Sometimes in the summer I layer cute/dressy tank tops. I rarely wear shorts in summer, mostly capris (denim). I wear all different kinds of blouses, from fitted button-up to baby-doll style with prints. A boatneck flatters my figure and haircut.

I wear a skirt or slacks when I go to church.

When I go out with my husband, I wear a flattering blouse with nice jeans and heels.

I wear all kinds of shoes. Flip flops, heels, clogs, flats, boots, etc. Just whatever looks best with the outfit. I rarely wear sneakers/tennis shoes.

I have a fitted, dark-wash denim jacket that is a staple in my wardrobe. It fits perfectly and goes with EVERYTHING. I love it and wear it all the time.

I'm a bargain shopper. I got some very nice items at the local thrift store and a yard sale most recently and on clearance at JC Penney and Old Navy.

I don't wear much jewelry, just my watch and wedding ring, and once in a while a bracelet or earrings. I never wear necklaces.

I used to wear really long hair but it got to be impractical, so now I wear an inverted bob that is angled longer in front and shorter in back. It looks sophisticated and is easy to take care of. 99% of the time I wear my natural hair color, because my hair grows so quickly and it's a nice color. I am contemplating going a shade darker for the winter.

eta: Today I am wearing jeans, a fitted long-sleeved blue t-shirt and brown corduroy clogs. I was wearing a coordinating fleece jacket earlier. I'm very casual today.

Do others get sad when favourites start to wear out?

I have this really pretty grey blouse which I wear for work. I put it on today and notices that one section is starting to wear. I guess today is the last time I'll be wearing it for work.

And it's way too pretty to wear for housework.

You wear fitted tops, that suggests to me that you have a good figure. I like to wear fitted tops as well. Sometimes it is vulgar. Like leggings on their own, for me, look vulgar. I was behind a woman on a bike and she were wearing them and it wasn't a pretty sight. I often tell my daughter to put something over them. They don't look very nice on their own.

I was so glad when leggings went out of fashion in the early 90's, especially the leggings and a t-shirt look.

I was a little appalled when they started creeping back into fashion.

And no-one looks good in bike pants, male or female.

Melbourne Cup Day - pretty dresses and hats or fascinators...

Our manager has said we can dress up for it. I'm having a hard time finding that balance between still looking like work clothes and yet still wanting to take advantage of the opportunity to dress to fit.

I have bought a chocolate brown fascinator. I'm thinking I might wear some nice chocolate coloured pants and a cream top with it and wear my snakeskin heels.

LOL! Meeee, toooooo. I was in Jr. High in the early 90s and so I wore the leggings with the big shirts . . . . . . . and the little tie/clip on the side of the t-shirt. Multiple pairs of socks and tennis shoes. *shudder* Nope, I'll never re-live those days, thank you. LOL!!

I'm very short and petite. 5' tall and I have a very short waist. If I don't wear something fitted, I look very boxy and frumpy. Fitted helps my torso look longer.

I was reading the bible about the Israelites. They had their clothes for 40 yrs and they didn't wear out. My dad was like that with his clothes. Always got good threads that would last for ever and God's blessing on top of that is amazing. His love kept those clothes together. It doesn't speak much of the fashion then though. They are always represented with drapes or shawls with a tie around their waste. I am sure there would've been girls and women who are the same as us in that regard .

Just want to say, my mini is not THATmini, it's just above the knee. I have always had many flamboyant people around me. I like long flowing gowns and stockings because I don't like the gusset on the pantyhose.

Yes I like hats and it is a great opportunity to dress up. I don't go to the cup. I may get dressed for a party I am going to with my mother. May wear a cream silk top with a pretty collar and a plain a line skirt with skin coloured fishnets and gold stilettos.

I took X out yesterday to buy her dress for her end of year graduation. She's 12yo and I'm buying her Size 12 ladies clothing (that's my size). It's so hard to find pretty dresses at the moment that aren't either up to the crotch or down to the navel.

We did find two dresses - a black one with salmonish coloured straps and a sash with embroidery on the dress; and a white one with purple flowers. I bought her both as she had no dresses for Summer. And then I was the mean mother who made her choose right now which one she would be wearing for the special night out, which she's now not allowed to wear until that evening.

Now we just have to go out shoe shopping. Her feet are already one size bigger than mine.

Geez, she must be a big boned young woman. I like shoes but I hate shopping. Usually I can find the thing I want quite quickly when I scan around. I just want to get out of there quickly especially if there are a lot of people in the shop.

She has dh's mother's height and my family's curves. If she keeps going the way she is she's going to grow up to be an Amazon.

Dh is already sharpening his swords (lol - he has a collection which he swears he's going to start engraving with boys names.

The scary thing is that X looks (and is quite mature in the way she speaks) like a 15yo. It worries me that some guy may assume she is a lot older than she is.

Yes, at 12 I was quite grown up as well. Now at 45 I am still trying to grow up but I don't think I ever will .

Hope she does become an Amazon woman. We need more of those in this world . My gym had that feel at one stage. Every poor guy who came off the street to train got bashed up by a woman , enough to make a young fellow give up before he starts lol! Should send her off to learn defence otherwise they start to depend on a man for that and there is danger of overly dependant relationships.

What you wear reflects who you are and for this reason I struggled with going to church because there were so many dags in the church. Whimps and dags. Not traits which I am particularly attracted to. It was not until I met someone who had brighter armour than clothes that I switched on to Christianity. My attitude was- if I don't like your shoes and clothes then why should I like anything else from you. I know it's very carnal but I still struggle with the attitude with film. I have to overcome judging people's shoes before I judge their content. It is so shallow.

A collection of words? Engraving the words or does he have a baseball bat for those?

Does she do any exercise?

Did I say A line? I mean pencil line. lol! My mother had one woman living with her that dresses like Mary Poppins; with the parasol and long old style dresses which she makes herself and she also talks with the plum in her mouth so we are everything but regular people. Many of my mother's friends are gay artists.

I also like scraves. All different colours; silk and other nice materials. I have one to match most of my outfits.

Cold day for the races. Some rain predicted as well.

One of my old father's of the faith (have two) has turned up in the area again. I thought he had gone to heaven. He is 88 and is quite conservative in his clothing, though his spiritual clothes are brighter than his earthly clothes. I love him soooo much and can't wait to see him and worship with him. I am soooo excited. The whole of heaven opens up when I am with him. . I have so many things to ask him and talk to him about. He headed up Prison Fellowship in Australia and he is tough, wise and gentle and still sharp as a tack.

Can't get over the feeling that perhaps I have offended someone here, far out! If there is anyone with no arms or legs, or anyone else who has taken offense, then I am sorry for offending you, if that is the case, it was not intended.

LOL Guilia the thread killer!

X does have troubles with exercising, but that's because she has a genetic knee condition. She does exercise regularly, just not very hard. Even walking can be painful for her at times.

Shoes! I love shoes, My favourite pair for work are black and gold ones with honey brown coloured beading.
