Do you own "fat jeans"? aka clothes for when you weigh a bigger size than normal. Or do you own clothing in a different range of sizes?

I never have before, but I am getting temped to now. I want to lose weight, but I am so lazy. And most my pants are getting uncomfortably tight.

Just curious.

The first time I ever bought "fat pants" was after I gave birth, I was pretty steadily the same size all through highschool and until I got pregnant, so there was never any need. Now that I'm back at work I have been slowly shrinking, so as I am buying smaller jeans I end up having "fat pants". I'll probably keep them for next time I have a baby.

I buy pants that fit. If I happen to lose weight, then they are too big and I can save them. I usually don't, though, because then it's an excuse to gain the weight back.

However, I'm happy that I did save some of my pants that are a touch on teh big side ... save me from having to buy maternity just yet.

And that's true for my shirts and bras too.

No! I get rid of everything as I "undergrow" them, and I refuse to ever buy that size again. If my clothes get uncomfortable, that's my sign to get back on program, not to buy a bigger size. Been there done that enough time to know that is a slippery slope!

I do have a lot of smaller clothes that got too snug I am slowly getting back into, but I don't own one thing right now that's too big...I just made a run to Goodwill the other day with several bags of too big clothes.

I generally only have about 2-3 pairs of jeans at a time because I have a hard time finding the right size. I replace them when I wear holes in the knees.

When I was a teenager and my asthma was really bad, I had "prednisone jeans" and regular jeans. I was hospitalized a few times a year for asthma and if I took prednisone, I could easily gain 15 pounds in less than a month

When I got pregnant, I bought jeans two sizes too big and wore them until I was about 18 weeks.

Nope. I got rid of all of them. Well, I have one pair that I bought pre-Isabel that are 2 sizes too big. I wear them as "old" jeans, and I have to wear a belt with them. So I guess I have one pair.

Then again, I'm fat.

LOL, Harvie!!!

My current fat jeans are maternity jeans. So...yeah...

I do have one pair of regular jeans I can fit now (and 5 more that I don't). But some days they don't want to fit me still.

I wear a belt with ALL my jeans.
I can't stand to have my jeans slip from their position even an inch. It's so uncomfortable.

LOL I hate wearing belts. The jeans stretch out during the day, can't stand it. Trying to find a pair without stretch is near impossible.

Yes ... that's true. And that's the biggest reason I wear a belt. But even my one or two pairs of non-stretch get loose on me or will shift.

I found a belt that I love and it's made the biggest difference in my belt comfort. It's a contour belt. It isn't straight, but curved, to go with the curve of the hips/waist. It's been awesome. No more belt bunching, and no more pants-falling.

No, I don't own "fat jeans". If I have them, then I have an excuse to gain weight and I like to look good. Plus, I enjoy to shop and if there are things cluttering my closet I can't wear, then I won't be able to fit my new finds. I take them all that can't fit, what I don't wear, etc to Salvation Army.

I don't own any "fat clothes." After I had Akeelah I still wore my maternity stuff and stretchy clothes for a few months until I lost the weight. I bought some clothes that were one size higher than I was before I became pregnant because that was the size I wanted to stay at.

I don't think I own any jeans like that, but I do have clothing that works best a size higher or a size lower. I don't really hold on to anything much more then that (unless it holds personal significance).

I could probably fit into all of those things but they feel awkward or don't look right, and I like the item itself enough and I know I will probably wear it some time. There are times I'm busy and lose 5lb and a certain shirt looks good for a few weeks and there are times I have my period and a certain skirt fits nicely.

I guess I don't think of my body as one static size so I don't consider them 'fat' clothes.

All of my clothes are 'fat' clothes as Harvie mentioned above, but after being bloated all day today I realised I probably could use looser jeans or something.

I get rid of clothes that do not fit if I have not been able to fit back into them after 6 months to a year. I am at my heaviest non-pregnant and I feel disgusting. I am 20 lbs. from an ideal weight, but 30 lbs. away from my ultimate goal weight. I do have all my maternity clothes so if that counts as fat clothes, than yes I have fat clothes/jeans. They are put away though, not hanging in my closet.

My 12yo daughter doesn't fit into my 'usedto, once, coulda fit into those jeans'. I would find it depressing to have them hanging around.

I do have fat/skinny jeans. My body is one of those which can change a complete size leading up to menstruation, so I always have two sizes of clothing in my wardrobe.

Same here. I lost forty pounds after college and threw out all of my old jeans, intending to stay in my new skinny jeans. I knew if I had the clothes just sitting there I could rationalize gaining back some of the weight. I've had two children since then and have made do with maternity jeans while pregnant and in those first couple of months post-partum. The bigger jeans probably would have been easier than squeezing into the skinny jeans before my body was totally back to pre-pregnancy shape, but I honestly needed the discomfort to motivate me to lose the last few pounds.

The bad news is that all of my clothes are "fat" clothes.

The good news it that almost everything I own is too big for me now.
