ORIGINAL: RETBASSPLAYER I plan to pass on my Southern Gospel collection to my son. He is not a musician but does have an ear for music. I am now an avid bass fisherman and tournament angler. My son and I spend a lot of time traveling together to lakes across the Southeast. He is 12 yrs old, very "up to speed" with the music of today. He prefers to pull out my "antique" gospel collection when we are in the truck. Rusty Goodman, Teddy Huffam, the original NewSong, Hinson's and the Hemphills are some of his favorites. He prefers the Hemphills "Louisiana Live" project over their others because of the band. I have to admit, I am partial to that recording also. Welcome to the forums! My husband and I have a week-end place on Weiss Lake in Centre, Alabama. Do you ever fish tournaments on that lake?

Yes, I have fished Weiss many times over the years. My parents also had a weekend place there for years. Weiss is a tough lake to navigate in a bass boat. Too many stumps and shallow flats. Great fishery, just have to be careful navigating. I live on Lake Allatoona and have a get away place on the Tennessee River in Hixson, Tn. Nice to chat with lake folks. Retired Bass Player

Yes it is a shallow lake. It is especially low now since they pull it down in the winter. We don't go over much in the winter unless there is a SG concert around Gadsden or close by.

You have a great fishery near you in Jasper, Ga. Carters Lake is a fine spotted bass lake. One of my customers set the lake record for Hybrid Bass last year while on a guided trip with me. My wife & I love to eat at Col. Pooles BBQ in Ellijay just north of Jasper. Retired Bass Player

Yes, Carter's Lake is a great lake. Col. Poole is a character isn't he?

Yes, Col Poole is a quite the character! The last time I was there, he was outside building more "pigs" for his "pigs of fame hill" behind the restaurant. He was wearing his shorts and work boots, that was it! He noticed my wife & I as we were walking in, we chatted for a short while. As we were preparing to enter the restaurant, he yells back at me, when you're finished eating, play/sing a verse of "That Glad Reunion Day". The customers today have been honorary, they need a spiritual kick to straighten 'em out! He still keeps his keyboard in the corner of the restaurant at the exit door. The Fox News Channel was to be there this week to do an interview with the Colonel and his thoughts on the election. He is very much involved in politics. Retired Bass Player

Actually, I am in the right thread. I wasn't talking about "Geraldine's Ricky", if that's what you were thinking. I see how you could've thought that, though! I should've used the 'quote' feature, since that post came out on the top of page two, and what I was referencing was the last post on page one! To clarify, I was referring to Ricky Luster. I think that he passed away a few years ago. Anyone know for sure?

JChaz, the jokes on me. Sorry. Ricky Luster and Darrel Luster was with the Sensational Nightengales is the last I heard. I didn't know Ricky died.
