I rarely start threads but I decided we need to have a thread about my favorite group, The Freemans. I wish I could remember the first song I heard from them but I remember listening to "Little David," "Heavenly Places," "Number One Love," "The Only Thing He Can't Do Is Fail," etc. I think I fell in love with them from Day One and they and their music are still a tremendous blessing to me.
If you like the Freemans or if you have any stories of how they have blessed you, I would love to hear about it.

The only story I have is I saw them in concert in Mississippi in September.

What I liked about their performance was 1. the use of a live band (although some of the music was on tracks, 2. they showed a lot of energy to a small crowd (there was a driving rainstorm outside) and 3. there was a nice variety to their music.

I love THE FREEMANS! Don't get to see them often enough. I have most, if not all of their videos. I first starting following them because I was a big Hinson fan back in the day. Now I love them all just for themselves.

I first came to enjoy the Freeman's in the early 90's with their song "Going Back". My other favorite was "Something Out of Nothing".

I would love to find some of the old videos. I've heard part of their Tenth Anniversary live recording (I think it was) and that was back in the days when I used to dream of seeing the Freemans. It would be fun to see a video now that reflects what they were like back then. I'm a major Hinson fan too and have thankfully been able to get some of the recordings with Chris on them.
I'm not sure what my favorite song of theirs is but I think, in recent years, it probably is "Children of the Dust." There are so many others, though, that would be a close second.

"Once was enough" will always be my favorite Freemans song, also like many many more of their songs. Gotta love that country sound.

I do love the country sound and the way they do it well. Most "Christian country" isn't that great quality in my estimation.

I have seen the Freemon's several time in the past couple of years. Always enjoy hearing them. My earliest memory is when Chris first started with the Hinsons. I saw them either her 1st or 2nd singing date they did together. She was one very nervous young lady. You would never know that now when you see her. She is open to everyone & so enjoys meeting the fans after the concert. I don't beleive she has ever met a stranger.

I have mentioned this before; The Freemans are some of my favorite people in all Southern Gospel Music. I first saw them in concert in the late '80s. One of my all time favorite live recordings is their 1988 recording "Have Arrived Live". I have the groups first 1983 recording Have You Heard when Darrell's Father, Mother and Brother were a part of the group. I can honestly say that no group has been as kind to me over the years as this family.

The Freemans are fine folks.
I remember seeing Chris with the Hinsons way back in the '70's.
She is a great vocalist.
Darrell and I had dinner a fews year back prior to a concert we were
both a part of.
He is one of the nicest guys you will ever meet.

Speaking of being the sweetest people, I can attest to that. I remember the first NQC I attended about six years ago. My sister and I were going to go aisle by aisle and see who all was there. Once we spotted the Freemans' booth, we temporarily cut out from our plan and beelined for their booth. Chris was talking but, when Darrell asked if he could help us, I mentioned I wanted to meet Chris. He told me to stay there and that she'd come talk to us when she was done. We waited but it was so worth the wait. I really appreciate the fact that they treat each person like they're the only one who wants to talk to them. That is one trait I would like to acquire.
Darrell, Joe, Misty, and Caylon are all really sweet too. They just don't come north enough!

Some of the finest people you will ever know. Chris is one of the sweetest people in SG. I have had the pleasure of knowing her since the Hinson days.
My favorite Freeman song right now is Eye On The Prize.

Glad to see this thread because I have a question. My aunt's church was supposed to have had the Freemans for their Labor day function, but they weren't able to make it because of someone's wedding. Anyone know who?

as for fave Freeman's songs
"Hello In Heaven" gets my glory bumps rising
"He'd Still Been God" sorry Donna but this song was meant to have that bluegrassy country sound ((GV does a good job but this my fave version"
"Children Of The Dust" what can you say bad about this song. except for the tears in my eyes which isn't bad
