Oh isn't it hard?! We have 2 nieces now on hubby's side. So we have agreed with their parents to only buy for the kids. For the other siblings they will buy our kids a present so we will buy them something small, and the parents. Although when you buy the parents a present they usually give it away to some stranger anyway. So I made them a calendar last year which went down well, can't give that away :) For my side there are no other grandkids, so I buy for my siblings still and my mother, father and stepmother. I also buy for my 3 little cousins as they buy for my kids. I give my 2 nanna's photos or something like that. One year we had the secret santa type thing on hubby's side. We were only meant to buy for the one person we picked and the MIL and FIL. Well one of hubby's brothers decided to scrap that and bought for the 2 youngest siblings too (they were early adults, late teens) so everyone else looked like fools! Grrrr

heres a good idea... I did this for my daughter's bday this year.... I bought one of those blank cards that had a picture of a beautiful flower garden on it and wrote a special note inside. On one side was listed 10 things I think is beautiful about her...and on the other side I wrote 3 of my favorite memories of times we shared this past year....and I thought what a great idea for Christmas cards to give something similiar... Make a list of your fav. Christmas memories together (for family and close friends) and perhaps list 2 or 3 things you would really like to see happen for them this holiday season...or 2 or 3 things you are looking forward to sharing with them in the upcoming year...something along those lines... I'm already thinking of "I commit myself to being more" of several things to my wife...and giving it to her on Christmas morning. I really believe money should have very little to do with what we give during the Holy Holiday Season.

One year I did that type of thing Buck, I bought a cheap box from like a dollar store, but it was still pretty and on some nice paper I wrote down all the memories I could about my mum. She boo hoo'ed the place down and all my cousins were so jealous they didn't think of doing something like that for their parents. That was about 5 years ago now and my mum still brags about it LOL Last year my sister went through all of my Nanna's photos and scanned them all and then gave each family member a disc with photos on them.

that is so neat Nicole! I can tell you from past exp. there is great comfort when you are at the funeral of a loved one that you absolutely know you expressed your love to them while they were still living. I really try to bring that to life for my family esp during the Holiday season. but I sure do need some help with a "revenge gift" for my sister...lol I'm thinking of giving her 5,000 black jelly beans....would that be ok?
