I would encourage you to stay though it will be uncomfortable. It is an opportunity for you to become more like the type of person who God's special gaze is on: 'This is the one on whom I will look: he who is humble, and of a contrite spirit, and who trembles at my word.' (Isa. 66:2b) That word 'humble' means someone who takes the lowest position before God and for God - to be unloved, unknown, unsought. Do you want to become more like this? It appears that this is one thing God is giving you an opportunity to develop in your life by staying at your church. Quite a gift! God bless you and your family abundantly, Galadriel 'The broken heart is the healed heart, the way down is the way up', the stars shine most brightly and are seen at night.

It doesn't seem at all strange to me to enjoy your solitude. Christ Jesus Himself was known, and is our example, for solitary time with His Father. We're here to figure our best way through a situation, with our Father's help. If your fellowship steps on your toes or judges you, our Father still is the purely justified judge. Luke 6:37 leads off a marvelous heavenly picture of how everything that we do to others is meant to come back on us. Use an appropriate mindset when dealing in such situations. Explain that when forced to share uncomfortable details. Just as you know that those who judge are due theirs, remember that the way you handle situations is justified in coming back on you. That doesn't have to go to the downside. You can use something that hurts you, to experience something that you've yet to see the best side of. It's got to hurt if it's to heal.

I don't want to sound like I do not have any compassion for you. I do want to say that we are who we are, and we are all sinners. The fact that this has become public is a sore spot with, and it is obviously something that God intends for you to work on. One of the biggest problems in the church today is that we all go and say that we are sinners, but never get specific. It is kind of generic, and is like everyone walks in wearing a mask. God has revealed this sin and shone His light on it for a reason. He is revealing something deeper within you on how you want to run from it because of embarrassment. It sounds like you are more worried about your reputation than in the love or forgiveness that the others in the church have shown you. It takes a great deal of courage to face being exposed in a specific way, especially when you are the only one. So stand up in your faith and receive the love and forgiveness of the church with grace, and move forward forgetting what is behind, and press forward to that greater calling that is in Christ Jesus.

I'm surprised your pastor would encourage you to move on! Generally men who are caught in indiscretions seek out other men who hold them accountable. What a wonderful time for your church family to grow while praying for your family and your husband's indiscretion. May they be reminded 'There but by the grace of God, go I.' ppod, I would bet that the responders to your question have faced the same or much worse things than you are facing. Please don't assume everyone is judging you and yours.
