Barring some emergency that requires I leave the house with ds in the next 2.5 hrs I never have to use a booster seat again!!!

DS turns 8 tomorrow...AAAHHH I just remembered I was going to get him some chips to eat with the cheesesteak he wants for lunch tomorrow. That means I have to run to the convenience store tomorrow AM for a little bag of doritos.

Ezri, I hope you're able to get your heat pump fixed soon.

We live in Illinois and have a heat pump. Most of the time we can get by without using emergency heat.

Happy Thanksgiving!

I am having a hard time getting in the mood today. I have three kids with stomach bugs. That is all I will say about that since I want you to be able to EAT today.

Hope it's short lived, Ellie and that you and the rest of the family don't get it.

You too? At least it's not Thanksgiving for us today ... although for our Thanksgiving I was stuck in the hospital with Caleb. So I *still* haven't had my turkey dinner!

DS (8 today) is bouncing off the walls waiting for his grandparents to arrive so he can open his presents. DD2 gave him her present: a beanie baby dog and he has been bouncing off the walls and throwing this thing up in the air for about an hour now. They'll be here any minute.

Happy Thanksgiving, everyone!

Sorry for everyone with the pukies.

I'm working today, so we're celebrating tomorrow.

We celebrated last week(Twice) and did the community Thanksgiving "dessert" on tuesday this week so I am Thanksgiving'ed out. *wink*

I sat in bed and wrote til about midnight- then i re-read some of what I'd wrote and checked some other stuff til about 2am. I was wanting to see how cold the house would get cause it was nearly 5* colder last night than the night prior and it got down to 62* the night prior... Well, I made brownies at about 7:30 last night. That got the house up to about 71* inside. It was warmer inside last night(Due to brownies) than it had been the night before!

The kids got the living room cleaned up nice... the rest of the house looks decent too so the tree is UP... it is not decorated, but it is up.

Jerry called, it was nearly 11pm his time. We talked for a bit. worked out some financial stuff. then he talked to all the kids. at the end he mentioned having 200.00 left to put in savings and it hit me- The heat pump! I had not said anything about the heat pump. 200 left for savings sounded like it might fit the bill... if it is fixable.

We are winding down. My parents have done home. Clean up went quickly. Mom did the dishes while I put away leftovers. DS got a harmonica for his birthday: a real one not just a toy. He is sitting and watching the DVD to try to learn how to play.

He will get one more present tomorrow. I bought him a bid Knex set for Christmas that my mom was hiding at her house. She bought him a small set for his birthday. They got here and I'm looking at her package and it was too big. I felt and there was a handle on it like the Christmas one. Turns out she opened the closet and just pulled out the first one without really paying attention. We will go by tomorrow and get the right one.

Real quick fly-by here... Dh ended up taking me up to Grandma's last night. We used this opportunity to bring the treadmill back. Rough time getting it out of the basement... Got it upstairs, dh let go, and it went back down the stairs, taking it with me. I managed to stay on my feet but did get banged up. Worst part was the 2" toothpick sized splinter in my finger, some of which I couldn't get out. Dh went back home last night, then back today with the boys.

Really enjoyable Thanksgiving dinner. All too soon we had to head back home.

Ds1 and I will be riding back up to Grandma's tomorrow. Prayers for safe travels would be appriciated!!! Weather is questionable, most likely headwinds both days. And, I am feeling quite beat up from last night's little encounter with the dreadmill...

Yes, he had a good birthday. I caught the mistake before he opened it and now he gets another present tomorrow. His favorite present was the harmonica though.

HAPPY THANKSGIVING EVERYONE!!

Hope everyone had a great day! We had a fun, relaxing day at my sister's house. We are staying her until Sunday. It is fun, with the exception of the usual family "jabs" that are supposed to be "funny"... oh well. Just smile and deal with it, and realize that it is a blessing to be together. LOL Part of being a "little sis".

Anyone going shopping? I have no plans to. I did not think that I ever had, but my step-mom reminded me that we went when we were at their house one year for Thanksgiving. I did not remember that at all, then realized that it was when my mom was terminally ill. She passed away the following Wednesday. So, that time frame is pretty much a blur.

So, no big plans to fight those crazy crowds!!

I plan to go out about 10. Most of the crowds will be gone by then. There are a couple of doorbusters that I'm looking for, but if they're gone because I waited, it's no big deal.

I avoid shopping even when it's not insanely crowded and you need a cattle prod just to get in the door. I especially avoid it the day after Thanksgiving.

Ellie, how are your kids?

I have to go refill my propane. When I do that, I'll stop at the pharmacy and see what deals they have today. That's it. I did get a great Black Friday deal on a vacuum on amazon.com.

I am just getting up, but I know that David is still sick. Sarah feels yucky. Russ and AS were sick last night. I know Russ is better this morning. We are supposed to have company today, but I am thinking that we will let them know. I am starting to worry about SS. Russ and I are supposed to teach Rebekah's class this Sunday. I hope we are all well, but am wondering at what point I should call Mrs. S. We hope that we will be better, but if we can't the next person should have some prep time.

We did manage to have a nice Thanksgiving anyway. We just didn't let the kids help with the food like we usually do.

ellie- I was gonna say that if your family still has folks that have not done the tunny bug to give her a call cause we all know it will run the entire house before it stops and you risk infecting the class. But really unless everyone is well for at least 24 hours I wouldn't even contemplate going in.
if anyone complains tell um that you will invite them over for dinner the next time Timothy is projectile --- I won't finish that thought--- it was a bad thought--- I am a bad girl.

HEAT!

sigh- the heating guy is out of town. He will be back Sunday night and will come out this way Monday. I know that he knows the system and what we are trying to do about waiting til the tax money comes in so he will do the good ol boy duct tape and WD40 treatment if at all possible to hold her together til the refund comes in and he can order a new unit. He is an honest man. I trust him.

I know if I call someone else- they will likely tell me it is road kill and that I HAVE to get a sparkly new unit and it'll only cost me 8 gazzillion dollars and I need to do it right away.

He did offer to call a buddy that used to work with him and see if he could come out for me. I told him I did not remember the fellow and that I knew that he knew the system and our situation and the kids all voted to wait til he could come out. (They are enjoying all the baking to be quite honest about it.)

We will pick up more brownie and muffin mix tonight at the grocery as well as get another box of the fire logs the kids like so much.

We had a nice Thanksgiving! I did get to go to Blockbuster & got 5 of the nieces/nephews taken care of for Christmas & it was only $20 + tax! I still have 2 of the boys that are older to buy for. We'll look around for other DVD sales & find something for them! I was quite a sight sitting on the floor of Blockbuster with a stack of DVDs around me, calling everyone asking if their kids has certain movies!

We have lots of stuff we'd like to get done this weekend (cleaning up & getting ready for winter, getting out & putting up Christmas items & then dh has the car & computer stuff he needs to do too)!

Praying for all those with the sickies! And for Ezri & kids to stay warm!!

I just went through and mapped out his first week's work...Math, Reading, Spelling at least. I won't start on the rest of it until I have the DVDs. It's okay if I don't have them next week though. We're going to go through his 3rd grade math book and do a page or two from each chapter and then test if I'm sure he gets it. I figure three chapters this week that way...they all look easy for him. Then when we get through this book that way, we'll move onto the 4th grade book. That way I'm sure we haven't missed anything. I asked him what he thought of that and he was excited. He knows if he messes around, we'll be going through it the slow way. LOL

Jumping right back in, and when I was writing out his work for the week, it almost seemed we had never stopped hsing.
