Earthless I hope you are not also here too... but most likely nothing will happen... however, im still going to ask to leave early, if nothing for the fact to avoid the mad rush on the train home. and then i can go home and watch the election coverage on tv. the Lord will protect us.

I believe either way, people will have violence, not only in the big cities either.

Type in a search engine Ada Evening News, and the KKK. I work there, and I work late, and alone many times. I have seen things, I know things, No one knows I know and would never open my mouth. It is just not worth dying over, no one's life has been threatned, and mine would not be worth anything if I spoke. There have been bomb threats by Obama supporters as far away as California, death threats and so on. There are nut jobs on both sides, more on the Obama camp, but I have to say in the big Mac camp also.

Yeah, well one of the biggest problems is that Obama would "subtly" approve of these acts. He has shown exactly what he is for anyone who is willing to open their eyes and see the truth.

yep i live here in chicago. the gang bangers take advantage of these events just because they happen to be there - accidentally or on purpose - and someone does something like brush up against them and they pull out a gun. (this happend on a bus). They were there at the Taste of chicago event - a totally family oriented event at Grant Park by the lake, its a food festival, stupid gang bangers had to go and shoot some people eating.
That is why i moved out to the suburbs... but i have to come into the city to work. i think my boss will let us go early if nothing to avoid the crowds on the trains.
may the Lord bless us and keep us all protected. i wish you all well in your cities wherever you are.

You are most likely right. I just wonder how many people that are mentally ill actually follow Obama. How many are there here in the US.

This sounds a little crazy...okay, a lot...but what if:
1) things turn so violent all across the country, all sorts of damage is done, people killed...sort of Escape from New York-ish and
2) lawsuits start a-flyin and/or the election cannot be decided that Bush decides to invoke some executive privilege order and delay coronation day?
If people don't "straighten up and fly right" it could backfire on them bigtime!

I honestly wondered the same thing! What's that power that can be invoked during martial law?

Chicago's not the only city gearing up for riots. Detroit is following suit as well, and I believe St. Louis and Dallas are doing the same.

What is the purpose of any rioting? I can see if the candidate of the rioters does not win. or do the rioters celebrate their candidate winning?

I think we need to pray for peace and harmony no matter who wins.
Always remember that no matter how shocking or scary something is, we have to pray for our enemies with love and not allow ourselves to be overcome with fear, anger, etc. Let's ask whether we've in our own heart prayed for these people first before anything else.
I was shocked and distrubed (mostly getting a headache) from that video, but I think the mob agitation represents something larger going on.... Yes, those people on the street were not civil and were scary and I would not want to be there. I feel bad for teh officers trying to protect people and create order, amidst chaos, yet being yelled at by the mob. I think those people in the mob agitating things were out of line.
...At the same time, they represent desparation too. I'm sure their anger and resentment and militant support of Obama has come from harsh expriences with inequality and poor quality of life living in the United States (perhaps due to history and their skin color). There are still serious problems of race and inequality that need to be dealt with honestly even today. Unfortunately, these people have gone the other extreme...not pacifism, but fanaticism. They were Obama maniacs causing and possibly threatening chaos. It's very sad to see, but again, I think we need to pray harder for them and ask ourselves what we can do in everyday life to bring about greater love, peace, justice for all.

Yeah, I really don't see political geeks as the violent type.
