I'm glad you are "trying" but hoping you'll be "succeeding" soon. Well, I must head for bed as I'm really tired and having a hard time getting up in the morning. I'll talk to you later but thank you for taking a few minutes to chat.

Sony,

First you should give her a link to Current Events. Then follow that up with a link to Morality and Ethics. When she is sufficiently shocked at what she sees, then give her a link to Prophecy and End Times. When she completely says she wants nothing to do with forums ever again, THEN give her a link to Kerrlaw's thread.

She'll fall in love with us immediately.

Hey Frog! Wanna go on the Mercy's Well cruise next year?

I would love to go. Cruises are my favorite vacations, and the Mercy's Well guys are some of my very favorite people. But since neither you nor I has a job, chances are slim and none that we can go.

I actually thought of that. Our words are no longer isolated to a few people who will take it in context. I sure don't want others to get the wrong impression on a drive-by but I REALLY don't want to have to explain to Mom. Hopefully she'll just hang out in the Geezer's thread.

I'm not sure Geezers is a safe place to hang out either!!!

{{{{Kerr}}}} You're one of the Good Guys and I'm so glad I know you.

After the hectic week I've had, it was great to start the day reading this.

And thanks to others for the "ittos".

I'm not sure what I did to deserve the kind words, but I will bask in the glow anyway.

cranky as a teenager:

"Mom, I've decided to move out and live with my 35 year old unemployed boyfriend. It's really best since we want to start a family as soon as he finishes re-hab. I would like your blessing."

Followed by: "Just kidding, all I really want is to borrow the car and stay out later this Friday."

Not to burst your bubble Sony, but your words in these threads, my words in these threads and anyone else's words in these threads have never been isolated to a few people:

- Unregistered guests can read any post, in any thread, in any folder of this forum;

- Registered guests from other folders of this forum can also read any post, in any thread, in any folder of this forum (and incidentally - not everyone who is a registered member of this community is a Christian);

- This forum is not just made up of the SingingNews portal. SingingNews is only one of many portals that feed into and are part of Salem's Web Network;

- And finally, many of the posts in this forum (regardless of which folder) often can show up in various Google searches (and through other search engines, as well).

Once something is posted in any thread, it is part of the worldwide web.

As Fritz (the administrator) says, "Don't ever post or say anything on the Web that you don't want your stalker, friend, fiancé, teacher, classmate, band member, employer, employee, church, deacon, pastor, spouse, parent, grandparent, sibling, significant other, child, roommate, teammate, coach, counselor, lawyer, judge, Police, CIA, FBI, Department of Homeland Security, or a carpenter born in a stable to see."

So . . . enjoy your time in these threads - certainly!

But while doing so, keep in mind that anything that you (or anyone else) post publicly in any thread is being read by more than just the people you know in the threads you participate in.

Blessings,

Very well said Sharon-Marie. I have found my posts in places I would never think they would be!

Fortunately I don't post anything I wouldn't care to say to anyone in person. If I don't want it broadcast to the world then I don't post it!
That's what PM & phone calls are for...then again...they're probably not very safe either.

Also...I have to say I've been to a couple concerts when I've had a couple of folks come up to me and recognize me from the forums...they call me by first name and so forth. They have told me that they lurk and read our threads all the time. It's a bit unsettling I must admit. You forget that what is said here isn't in a closed private setting.

It is easy, Lynn, to forget that far more people are reading threads than participate in them.

However, it seems that the longer I play in these threads (almost 7.5 years now, for me - plus an additional 4 months of lurking before that), the more I am aware that it's not just a private group of friends.

It doesn't stop me from having fun or from giving various aspects of my testimony when I feel so led; but the awareness that this is a public thread is usually hovering around the forefront of my mind.

The things that I wish I hadn't said don't revolve around what was said but how and why it was said; i.e., the posts that, for whatever reason, weren't very kind or gracious or perhaps my motive for posting wasn't the best.

However, the caveat to the above are the posts where I found it necessary to set some very clear boundaries with stalkers - either of me or of my friends. If there's one thing I've certainly found my voice in, it's in that of protecting myself and others from potentially dangerous people.

No, dabnabbit!

LOL. I'm not really complaining. It's been beautiful out here lately; and actually, I'm glad it hasn't snow yet - I have more mobility that way. It's supposed to be cloudy today; but the past few days have been absolutely gorgeous - blue, BLUE skies, sunny, midly cool temps . . .well, midly cool for us; probably cold for other people

And I'm pretty much settled in; I did all that in 2.5 days during the first week I was here (which translates to the 2nd week after I left Pigeon Forge, because that first week was actually spent somewhere else - follow that?)

Good Morning, Bobby - and excellent idea! I can use all the moola I can get. With moving and tuition happening all at the same time, well . . .
