I hope that everyone had, and is still having, a wonderful Thanksgiving.

We have had a fine time, though my plans were changed midstream. After a large meal at noon, my plans were to watch the UT basketball game, have a Baptist nap, and then surprise Mrs. Kerrlaw by taking her to the Mull concert in PF (Greenes, Crist Family, Triumphant Quartet, Michael Combs).

Mrs. K and the other Mrs. K (my mother) decided that they wanted to shop for Christmas decorations.

Four trees later (that's not a typo), it was too late to make the concert. I am consoling myself by flipping between basketball, football, and several good movies.

Four trees??? You mean she bought four trees? Or you decorated four trees? Or she ran into four trees while shopping?

Ok, I missed all the fun around here. I hope you had a great Thanksgiving!

I confess that every year I give more and more of our decorations away.

I'm guessing that meant that after she's bought enough decorations to cover four trees...

Four trees mean that the cats have several places to play.

Counsellor, I hope the consolation activities are going well this evening.

Very well thank you. Warm and toasty.

Well, that explains why I didn't see you at the concert. I kept looking for you. It was another great concert. Don't tell Cindy, but even Michael Combs did a good job!

I'm sorry we missed it. I will tell Cindy what you said, but leave out the "even".

Counselor:
Did you ever wear a mustache? I have had mine since the 70's (that is the decade, not my age ) and I am considering parting with it before Christmas. Any relevant thoughts?

Bill, I wore a mustache continuously from about 1973 to around 2001. From time to time I also wore a beard, particularly during college and law school and from 1998-2003.

My former law partner shaved his mustache after 30 years because his daughter had never seen him without it, and he had no regrets.

Mrs. K likes me with a beard, and wouldn't mind if I grew it back. However, my beard needs to be kept short, because it curls and doesn't look good if it's long at all. This means grooming it everyday and shaving the neck area, which is more trouble than shaving. Plus it is sort of half gray now, and makes me look older than I am.

I think that you should give the clean upper lip a try. After all, you can grow it back in a short time if Mrs. Billboy misses the tickle.

So it looks like Lane Kiffin got the coach's job after all. Thoughts?

I thought we should have kept Phillip Fulmer and hired a new offensive coordinator.

Only time will tell, but with the money and the attractive position that Tennessee can offer, I don't see the need to hire someone with so little accomplishment on their resume. This has "Buzz Peterson" written all over it.

Hope we can hear you Tennessee fans today holloring
GO DAWGS!

It was a bittersweet victory for Tennessee (24 in a row over Kentucky, but the final (maybe) game for our beloved coach).

Now the Dawgs, that was just bitter.

Not exactly my proudest moment, but when forced to enter a speech contest in high school, I won the "oral interpretation of poetry" category with a peom by Ogden Nash about women and their concern for weight. It reads in part,

"So I think it is very nice for women to be lithe and lissome, but not so much that you cut yourself if you happens to embrace or kissome."

Wasn't it great to be young, ten feet tall, and bulletproof?

I don't know if this was the thread where this was mentioned or not, but as far as I'm concerned, since I'm not married and am not likely to be, nor am I looking for anybody to live the rest of my life with right now, I can say with definite certainty that CAKE is BETTER than "..."

The tea went well. I had to lead the ladies in a couple songs, and give my testimony. The testimony went great, I guess, people were laughing and crying. Is that good or bad? I think I heard them laughing at the funny parts and crying during the sad parts, so that must be good.

Mr. Cranky preached a great sermon! For an engineer, he can preach very well. He taught on the consequences of Biblical illiteracy.

Sounds like the Crankys are a hit. Maybe you should get a bus and take it on the road.

What are the consequences of biblical illiteracy?

I've been going a little gray and was wondering if that was why.

No, gray hair isn't one of them. Gray hair is a consequence of having cats.

Actually, I'll find his notes and give you a SHORT summary a bit later today, 'cause I'm sure you are really wanting to know the consequences to Biblical Illiteracy.

It's time to bid a fond goodbye to Turkey Talk and move to the Christmas Club thread.
