I'll be glad when it is over. The poor media, what will they do now?

My main thought is that there needs to be a rebuilding of the party I want to have represent me. There has to be accountability for those who run and get elected under its banner. On the national level its leadership needs to let the base (you and me) have more say in its direction. I am aghast at its choice for the presidential candidate this year. There were some excellent people running early on. After a state with literally zero population chose a man whose campaign was floundering there was no stopping him/it. My state, with individual counties having larger populations than NH, didn't have a say in who was going to be the standardbearer. That's wrong and that part of the process needs to be fixed somehow. Those inside the beltway need to let go of their control of my party! You don't counter the opposition that is turning to the far left by going left yourself! Okay, I'm starting to rant now so I'll stop and try to collect some more thoughts. But the above pretty well sums it up for me.

My thoughts are we need to thank the many Men and Women whom selflessly sacrifice so we can have this great privilege to vote. God has blessed Our Great Country and will continue to do so as we move forward. Regardless of the outcome today, the LORD will is being done. Lets not ask Our Country what can you do for me, but rather what can I do for you. Lets not ask Our Father-in-Heaven what can you do for me, but rather what can I do for you.

my thoughts are sadness at the level of spiritual decay in our nation...prayers for God's help...little hope for any restoration...and I am wishing there was at least 1 person on the ballot I could feel confident in knowing they would seek God's way and not man's. There is not much joy in voting with the candidate's we have to choose from.

Oh, the media will have plenty to do. If Obama wins, they'll have to keep propping him up to make sure he's re-elected in 2012. If McCain wins, they'll have four years of tearing him down so that they can hopefully get "their guy" into office in 2012....

For the first time since voting in this district I had to wait in a long line. I think that is a good thing...and I will do an absentee ballot next year. My other concern is...IF Obama wins, are we gonna have an Obama criticism thread like the one we had for Bush? Early voting here was extremely heavy too. I think we will have not only a record number of voters this year but a record percentage too. I would not surprise me at all to see 60% turnout.

I'm just hoping that we get some more interesting dialogue on topics other than politics in these forums for a while. For the last few weeks it's nothing but Obama, Palin, Ayers, McCain, blah blah blah blah blah.

I am struggling today as i have for the last week with having peace over what happens today. I know that God is in control and that His will will be done today, but still I am struggling with that peace that passes all understanding. I despair over what an Obama adminstration with a left House and Senate will mean unchecked in America.

But there are all sorts of politics besides the election, and all sorts of ways to discuss the election besides the mindless Palinolatry that most of the Election forum descended into. Along with hundreds of millions of others, I will be so glad once the RINO masses stop worshiping the Golden Moose.

My thoughts--prayers for mercy on our country. I have a feeling we're about to lose a lot of of the freedoms that we've taken for granted. I'm so sad to see so many people rushing to embrace socialism.

Remember Padme's line in the final Star Wars: "This is how freedom dies. With thunderous applause." Should The One take the field (which, absent a miracle today, he will), the next four years will be ... challenging.

I really feel like we have just shut the coffin lid on any hope of ever having a Godly nation. All I can say for the Christian is pray more than you have ever prayed because the days of persecution are less than 1 breathe away.

I'm very exceited and proud of Americans who came out for the first time to vote. It's a historic day for Black people and they can actually say to their son or daughter, "Yes, you can be president one day!" I'm proud of those who stepped out of their comfort zones and voted. I'm proud that our new pres. comes from IL the state that brought us Lincoln, how interesting. I believe that Obama brings hope to many Black men and I hope that hope will kicks some in the butt who need that good kick.

Deb, you sound like my mother, in a way. :) She and my family have dealt with a lot of racism, and my parents' firstborn died because the doctor in Selma in the '60's "didn't save black babies." They marched with King, were sprayed and gassed... but, it made a difference, and I hope the country continues to improve (racially).

I'm not black, and I didn't vote for Obama, but my reasons were fiscal, not racial. I can certainly understand and appreciate the fact that African Americans are proud of his election.
