Yeah, I didn't think I would ever see the day when Juan Williams got choked up; but I have to admit when I saw that, I understood how important this was to many people. Which is great, but until the day a black conservative gets elected, this will be a win of limited, if historic, impact.

They seem to be in short supply these days, regardless of color. You certainly don't see them among the vast herds of RINOs roaming the fields these days.

We have a conservative black on the Supreme Court and conservative black as Secretary of State and most blacks can't stand them along with most other colors.

Actually, that is part of my point; until blacks would be ready to elect a black conservative, they remain an arm of one party rather than a factor across the board in politics. And it will be interesting to see how the Democratic party goes forward with this - how obligated might they feel to nominate a candidate according to certain racial criteria the next time around? Make no mistake, this is a huge step forward; but the truly great day will be when race is no factor at all.

I know this thing seems pretty bizarre to me. The people in that crowd crying over their "charismatic" leader "you can't help but like." Those were Brit Hume's concession words describing Obaama. The adoring crowds from around the world looked like they just got a million dollars, swooning over a President that isn't even in their own country(s). I guess you could relegate my thoughts this election morn into the foreboding column. So, with that in mind, I would prefer to have the same thoughts Stormin has on the subject.

When I saw Jesse Jackson crying I have to admit it looked legit, and I've tried to put myself in his shoes and realize that perhaps this election will begin some healing. If it serves no other great purpose, that's okay. Will there be fall out in other areas? Probably, but I have a great peace about what is going on. Not because the tears of a great mass of people have me suddenly warming to Obama's views, but because the Lord is in control. I don't know what's coming but He does, and I can rest in that and enjoy the ride -- good, bad or ugly.
