I just don't see anything wrong with them giving free coffee to whomever they want... To be forced to give free coffee to everyone... It would be different if you had to declare a certain candidate or something. Just doesn't seem right to me.

Yay, it will be over today!

We voted 2 weeks ago. Went down to the library, showed our IDs. Took turns keeping the baby happy and having the "cheat sheet" to vote, there were 13 amendments this year so we needed one... we always sit down and discuss candidates and issues a few days ahead of time, we're always on the same page politically, which is nice. No lines, very nice election workers who just adored the baby. Filling out the ballot was fast due to the cheat sheet. Then we checked out some books. I LOVE early voting. :D

According to the news, lines are already massive here. Our ballots are just TOO long this year, and most people don't do their pre-voting preparations so they aren't ready to just blaze through the ballot like we did. It would have taken me probably at least 15-20 minutes if I actually had to read every one of the issues, and I'm a really fast reader.

My voting experience went fine. I was there 15 minutes before the polls opened and there were already about 20-30 people in line. I about froze my hind end off waiting for the doors to open, but it was worth it!

One of the poll workers came out and was asking people their names and addresses to verify that they were eligible to vote there. When I left, there was nobody waiting outside.

My wife and I stood in line for just under an hour, but the delay was due to the polling place only having half the number of machines they usually have......

A vacation tee shirt causes a flap at the polls.

If you vacationed there, be sure to not wear your souvenir Delaware tee shirt.

I got my sticker. I plan to use it for a free cup of Starbucks coffee. If I play this right I could hit several different Starbucks today. No problems voting it just took over an hour even though we got there when the polls opened. Next election I think I may be voting absentee.

15 minutes, but my polling place had no stickers . Had to buy my own cup of joe.

Jim and I didn't have to wait at all. There was one booth open when I completed my photo voter I.D. session (driver's license). No waiting, no parking problems and no complaints.

Stood in line for about 40 min but then was in an out pretty quickly but only because I had written down how I was going to vote on the like 20 amendemnts and referendums here in Colorado. The one thing I did not like was all the political signs outside the polling place. I don't think they should be anywhere remotly close to the polling place. I would hope that people have thier minds made up by the time they pull into the polling center.

My experience was great.
My wife and I arrived 15 minutes before the poll opened.
They let us in out of the weather, which wasn't all that bad.
We were 3rd and 4th to vote. Took us all of ten minutes.

Then we went and ate breakfast, waited for the chiropractor
to open. Waited about ten minutes on him to open.
Were first in line, took less then 15 minutes for us both.

Now, I'm at work. Aside from working it was a grand morning.

I didn't vote straight Republican ticket, but did wind up voting all Republican.

I early voted a week ago Thursday and stood in line for an hour before it was my turn, but more than worth it to cast my vote...

About an hour, in and out. Ohio also had a huge ballot, and my wife and I made use of the notes we'd brought along.

I voted in the comfort of my own home. The bummer was standing in line at the post office to mail my absentee ballot. I only had to wait about 2 minutes.

I did the same but dropped it in the mail box. Did you do that to check the postage? What was it by the way?

I sent mine with two of the forever stamps, so whats that like .86 or something? Hope it was enough. Never got it back so I guess it went.

My primary ballot came with two vouchers for postage, some sort of international treaty thing. So I didn't have to pay for postage. Cool! I don't remember how much it was to send, but it'd be different from Canada to the US anyway.

I drove our dd to school this morning and the parking lot of our polling place had about 15 cars in it at 7:30. Dh just calle dme a few minutes ago and said he walked right in and voted. I don't understand in this day and age why you'd have to wait in line so long.

There was a huge line at the polling place, way bigger than 2004.

My heart swelled with pride at the power of democracy. Then I started worrying about getting to work on time.

Luckily for me, I had my wife's absentee ballot with me to turn in. The poll officials didn't want people standing around with 'live' ballots in their hands, so I got pulled to the front. I felt enormous guilt going to the front of the line, but at least I'm a fast voter. Zip zip zip, and I was out of there.

I was in and out in about 10 minutes. My friend is a poll worker and said that when they opened there were about a hundred in line and it had been steady ever since. I'm fortunate in that my precinct is small compared to the other two that vote in the same location. There were very long lines for those people.

Just think how many conservative christians would have voted if Krispie Kremes handed out free donuts to those who voted...McCain would win in a landslide.

Actually, Krispie Kremes are giving out star shaped donuts for voting.

Our voting place was quiet and uneventful; but that pretty much describes our town. I will report that I knowlingly voted against a Republican for the first time since 1984.

Got out of lab at 11:30 and went down to the courthouse to vote. Maybe two people were ahead of me. In and out in under 10 minutes. Had to sign next to my entry in the register, but they didn't check ID. Passed another polling place on the way that had a long line coming out the door. Looked to be mostly students from the college.

Yeah, here they had me 'verify my address' which basically amounted to repeating it accurately against the address on the list. Based on that I could have come in a few times and voted for my neighbors - but why would I, since they are voting Republican?

I waited 30 minutes

I vote in the state of Washington, the state notorious for losing boxes and boxes of ballots done from the voting booths as well as losing mail-in ballots (especially the ones from the military), for encouraging democrats to "vote early and vote often," for deciding that the voters didn't know what they really wanted so the state changing our decisions to meet with what they had hoped we would vote, etc.

So many of you on CW know that my latest drivers license has a photo that is unacceptable to me, so I taped one (the one on the left) over it. It is very obviously taped there, and I seriously doubt that many drivers license offices will allow a photo of someone with a milk mustache to be on an official license.

But there it was!

And they didn't ask a single question. Paid absolutely no attention to it. Looked at it and handed me my ballot card.
