Aww, my mommy heart is all sad but laughing at the same time. Isabel just came running around the corner all happy and bubbly with her library books in her arms and BAM!!! Flat on her face. From bubbly face to surprise face to slowly-scrunchied-up-face crying. Poor baby! I felt sorry for her but it was funny at the same time. She's OK now, though. In my lap with those books.

Awwwww. I always feel so sad when a kid is having fun and then gets hurt. But I have to admit I would have laughed inside while feeling bad if I saw that.

Thank you so much for all the birthday wishes ladies!!! You really made my day, it is so wonderful to have friends!

Jeanie, she is most definitely a squealer... she does that whenever she gets really excited, she has since she was about 4 months old. It is definitely a lot more shrill now that she is older.

Sandy, I'm so excited for you!!

One of my friends just phoned and she is going to bring me a birthday cake! I haven't had a birthday cake in years, I'm so excited!!

We started moving today!!!!! Josiah cleaned all the carpets yesterday (he had a 24 hour rental machine and literally cleaned all day). I cleaned out our out-size clothes storage and took that over, and started working on bookshelves and the coat closet this afternoon. Josiah has Thurs through Mon off, so I guess we are going to be really busy this weekend. Moving piecemeal over a few days is a bit complicated, especially because the appliances will be the last to go, probably. Trying to figure out where we are going to eat and sleep.

Happy Birthday Chelsea

Hope the moving goes well Maggie!

Ruth- great to hear Nathan's tooth is fine. When is Greg's doctors appointment?

I leave in 3 sleeps, I am not looking forward to packing our stuff for 2 weeks, ugh.

Oh, wow, Maggie! So how does the new place compare with the old place? Are you happy to be in a new place?

Good luck on the move, Maggie. I hope everyone stays safe and sane.

Nicole, Greg should be at the doctor right now. Apparently things are smooth enough at his work that he is taking tomorrow off to recover! YAY! I admit, I tried hard not to be a nag, but I did threaten to call his boss to convince bossman that Greg needed to be healthy before the big trip. As a joke, I did tell Greg the "get a doc appointment or get a hotel room" line, which he then used to get sympathy from the advice nurse over the phone. He found it funny.

Well, I voted, and it was very smooth and very quick. Weather is beautiful, too, and my mom stopped by and is taking Nathan out for a walk.

dH just called to say that they told him it was viral and nothing to do but take a different OTC med then he was taking. He complained it was a "waste of time" to go into the doc. Well, I disagree, but I understand where he's coming from.

We don't get "I Voted" stickers. Then again, we don't wait in any lines either. I actually voted 2 weeks ago because we are all vote-by-mail here. It's a pretty cool system.

Helen and I went to the library yesterday and all she can talk about today is "Fancy Nancy". Boy, those are great books!

Ruth that's great to hear that its nothing majorly wrong. I don't think it was a waste of time, its better to be safe than sorry. At least with that day off tomorrow he can get some good rest in before he goes away.

Jeanie,

My husband doesn't have that specific mat, but he has a different rubbery-type one he uses on the concrete floor in his workshop when he has to stand for hours on end working on things. He says it is a lifesaver and REALLY helps his back. So I think the one you're looking at would work really well too.

Heading to the city for 2 weeks where my family is, where I went and stayed last time when things went pear shaped, although I think you were on holidays through that :)
The kitchen is getting renovated so we can't stay here, perfect timing though because we both need a break from one another.

Oh yes they are indeed :) We have a great 2 weeks planned with my family and friends. Lots of exciting things to do, trips to the zoo, beach, playgrounds, shopping centres, visiting lots of my family and friends. It will be a lovely break for the 3 of us. I also get time to do things with my friend and sister while mum watches the kids too which will be a great treat for me

Right now I'm struggling with being a good wife. My husband has made a decision about his career that means we will be moving at the end of this month. Intellectually, I know that the career decision is going to be good, especially because it means he will no longer be in a job that he actively dislikes.

The problem is, I don't wanna move (read this in the whiniest toddler voice you've ever heard).

For me, right now, this is a submission issue. At this point, it is my will against his. I don't believe his plan is actively against God's will for our lives (and in reality it is probably fully God's will, I'm just having trouble listening right now). SO, I need to get on board and follow my husband. The problem is that it is just so difficult to do!

Oh, wow, Kristin! Are you moving out of state, or to a different city/area?

Yes, we'll be moving to Oregon. There are so many things that will be good about it. We'll only be 2 hours from his parents (as opposed to 6) and 5 from my parents (as opposed to 9). We'll be in the town my hubby grew up in and will have a great church to attend and actually already know a bunch of people. I know it will be good.

BUT, where we live now is 2 blocks away from my sister, brother in law and 2 nieces. I am so, so overwhelmingly sad about leaving them.

Here's a funny side note: my husband's cousin gave us a bunch of things her kids used to play with. One of the things was a video which I made the mistake of letting Helen watch once. Now it is her favorite thing in the world and she wants to watch it constantly. The problem? It makes me feel dumber every time I see it. I worry about what it is doing to her . We may "lose" it in the move.

They actually did give him a prescription - Robitussin with codeine for nightime. Now that's cough syrup.

I hope you have a really nice time on your holidays, Nicole. We'll sure miss you!

No lines for us. We were in and out in less than 10 minutes. And got free cookies besides. People were stumbling all over themselves to make sure Brian could vote comfortably. I find that amusing, but I don't know why. My mom stayed with Levi and Esther so we only had to bring Noah and Hannah with us.

Jessica, I got that stroller today. L-O-V-E it!!! It fits Esther perfectly, the shoulder straps will be great support for her, and I'm so excited to have an umbrella stroller that isn't cheaply made!!! No more wrestling the huge stroller and trying to fit it in with Brian's ginormous wheelchair too. Well, I'm not getting rid of the bigger stroller, but will keep this smaller one in the van and use the bigger one for walks to the PO or around town. Thanks for your help! My mom was here when it came and was excited she doesn't have to carry Esther all over the hospital next week.

Hope you had a great birthday, Chelsea!!!

Robo with codeine is good stuff. Unless you're allergic to codeine, like I found out I was the last time I had the stuff.
