Everything isn't in the two sentence blurb they have on the ballots. Propositions and initiatives are to change laws. They have to be studied with care, and you can't do that in the voting booth. I took my good sweet time and probably took 15 minutes even though it was the smallest ballot I have ever seen. I joke about what happened in 2000 but seriously I try to be extra EXTRA careful that I do everything properly with care because of that.

So how long do you (meaning anyone) think it should have taken him? It took me roughly 5 minutes start to finish for 6 pages. Having done my homework before I walked into the booth I was ready and knew which way I was going to go on things. Here we had about 5 or 6 judge retention questions - good grief! Horrid for the person who hadn't done their homework. I even walked in with notes, so I wouldn't mess up two judge retention question concerning judges with very similar names. Maybe he voted straight ticket - which would cut things down tremendously. Any idea or verification on how long it took McCain? Blessings, Garsy

ORIGINAL: Acts29 I do find it surprising he did not know the different initiatives on the ballot. After all he is running for president. I would think he would some knowledge about what is on the ballot. I don't think he was ignorant. But he probably still wanted to take the time to read everything and vote carefully to make sure he did everything correctly. With voting being a supposedly important thing, I can't imagine why he'd want to take a few extra minutes with it. I did not say he was ignorant. I find it surprising he was not better informed as to what was on the ballot. I know you can go online and look at the ballot before going to the polls. At least in most states you can do this. Usually newspapers will have a copy of the ballot also. I just find it surprising he did not know the initiatives that were on the ballot. ....Just another area that concerns me regarding Obama.

There was a 3 minute time limit where I voted. There weren't that many races and 6 amendments. Two of the amendments were worded in such a way that a vote for them would have been bad for property owners because of it being an eminent domain issue. It made it easier for the government to seize "blighted" property. I'm actually surprised they put it on this ballot with the expected high voter turn out. Louisiana is usually sneaky with the amendments by placing them on other election days with next to zero turnout.

Any voter worh his salt would have done the homework and know who and how they were going to vote before going into the booth. If elected I wonder if he would take that long to order our missle defense system to be used if it became necessary. Thanks RC

Here we had about 5 or 6 judge retention questions - good grief! We had at least 20 or more. It was a full two pages of my ballot. However, I made sure that my machine was properly registering my vote on the paper trail, too, and that involved a little wait between each choice. quote:
I just find it surprising he did not know the initiatives that were on the ballot. I only had about half a dozen initiatives on my ballot, which I had checked out beforehand and I couldn't have rattled them off to anyone from memory. It neither surprises me nor bothers me that he couldn't recite what was on the ballot. Seriously, you guys are cracking me up.
