6) Energy prices will go up, and Obama will deliver a fireside chat in a sweater telling us it's our patriotic duty to conserve.
7) The Bush tax cuts will be allowed to expire, and people will finally recognize that their taxes are increasing, although Democrats in Congress, and the President, will argue that they didn't "vote for a tax increase."
8) Obama will have some rude awakenings in the area of foreign relations.
9) People will become increasingly disenchanted as they realize that it was all empty words. And as they realize what it means to have a president and congress with socialist leanings. The rest of us will be in the position of saying "I told you so."
and finally...
10) Rush Limbaugh will have a very good time during the next four years playing the role of the "loyal opposition."

The way I look at it, either Obama can go the way of Jimmy Carter's policies (especially those old enough to remember Iranian hostage crisis, the subsequent Desert One debacle, stagflation, price of oil, and possibly the assassination of S. Korean president Park Chung Hee... or perhaps the high-profile, hostage-rescue/counter terrorism era coming from The GSG9 Mogadishu Rescue, the Israeli commando raid on Entebbe, the Dutch Moluccan Train Incident, and yes, even the latter phase of German Autumn, a.k.a. the reign of The Baader-Meinhoff gang),* or perhaps go the centrist, triangulation strategy, like Clinton, which hence, could very well trigger a left-wing backlash against Obama for going pragmatic (see the recent Newsweek article by Jon Meacham, over how the ultra-liberal president elect will have to govern a traditionally center-right America).

*the former of which, I was barely in pre-school when all of this is going on, BUT when I consider the number of grindhouse, sometimes even pornographic films made around my infantile-to-toddler years--which I had the unenviable, firsthand experience of viewing with my Dad or even family , I'm thinking maybe that's the reason why when I was 3-4 years old, I found myself strangely ecstatic/optimistic about Reagan's sweeping electoral victory!
I supposed it's almost speculative to suggest that smut 'n shock cinema seems to correlate with the disastrous Carter years! But if someone were to counterpoint that there's also the same level of graphically violent/pornographic entertainment during the Reagan 80's, and at least with the Bush Sr. administration, I can always say it's due in part to the same post-60's filmmaking radicals that traumatized me then, are now traumatizing a newer generation of young people--especially if they were to become a potentially newer generation of young conservatives, comme moi!

On a pop cultural tangent (again ), I may look forward to more Biden jokes (from the late night, talk show circuit), a resurgent SNL (now that Obama will have to provide Tina Fey and CO. newer material to tackle)...

...or perhaps the death of mainstream topical (left-leaning) humor, given if what I've heard from the campaign phase of '08, many comedians were too scared to lampoon their own!

I always expect "Christians" who reduce the message of the gospel to abortion to repent too. I guess we're both disappointed.

If your concern is abortion, perhaps now you can focus on supporting crisis pregnancy centers or, if you're a female, talking with the teenage girls and college women in your church or community about the dangers of having sex in the first place.

We've had 40 years of Republican majority and abortion is still legal. No politician has been able to stop anyone from becoming pregnant or has forced a pregnant person to have an abortion. Maybe parents need to start being parents again and not expect a politician to teach their children Christian values.

Exactly. How exactly does the government teach people to tell the truth or to pray or to have faith in God or not to have sex before they're married, or to value life (not just pre-born), or to not smoke or not consume alcohol in excess, etc.? Those things are the responsibility of the church.

I'm hearing the same thing from Christians from all over the United States and it's just within minutes of each other. God is showing everyone the same exact things. I also do believe we will be persecuted, but God will separate the wheat from the weeds, the sheep from the goats. The wheat will grow strong, while the weeds will grow weaker and die. As in Daniel 3, those who bow down to the idols (Obama) will go free while those who refuse to bow down will be persecuted. But be strong and know God is with us, He will protect us.

I also believe, and I've stated this elsewhere and I'll state it again, That once Obama taxes the super rich, the economy will suffer. But again, know God is OUR supplier, not Obama. He will cocoon you in His hands and you will prosper while the world suffers. As the economy falls, those who trust in Him will be perserved. Let the others run after their new savior, we'll stand strong in Christ Jesus. Just don't let go of Jesus no matter how bumpy the ride gets or no matter how hard they laugh and mock us.

And how do you know that I'm not? My wife and I and our church (and many Christian churches) try our best to help those in need. My wife also volunteers for Pregnancy Resource Center.

By your reasoning rape might as well be legal and that parents should teach their children that it's wrong.

We live in a selfish and deviant society and it's unfortunate that Christians are part of this.

Repent.

Actually, Iraq is a mooot point now. Bush did a 180 after the 2006 midterm losses and started facing reality. The changes in tactics militarily and in working with the Iraqis turned the tide. The agreement with iraq spells out the US levels of troops and Obama will likely let it play out.

Afghanistan is a whole new game as US neglect gave the Taliban the opportunity to regroup. That war has no end in sight.

Puh-lease! You mean the same way he put the politics of personal destruction behind him when his senate opponent was trashed? Yeah, Obama is great at putting a stop to the politics of personal destruction . Just about as good as he is at caring for "the least of these", such as brothers in huts and illegal immigrant aunties in slums.

No problem. I didn't get to vote for my savior... he was appointed; See Eph 1:20-23.

I also expect President Obama, to let us keep our guns... unless of course, he now has enough votes in Congress.

I expect that the RePO group(Reid Pelosi Obama), will introduce spending programs, "for the children"(of course), that will only cost the taxpayer "a few dollars a week", as opposed to the "millions, billions, trillions, gadzillions", that the Republican tax cuts cost the precious government.
