quote:
ORIGINAL: bravjim That is what I am looking for, and struggling to find. A way to dedicate my life to doing something good, being a part of something bigger than myself, and not just working to pay my bills. It is direction, and nothing less. I am willing to do whatever He intends for me to do, but He doesn't answer me as to what I am to do. I know that if I strike out on my own, and it isn't part of His will for me, then I will wind up right back at this point again. So it kind of freezes me, because I do not know what to do. I applaud you for seeking God's will. We cannot live in the future anymore than we can the past. We live in the present, and must trust God with the future. Worrying about the future is, as they say, "like building bridges over rivers that are not there". God's grace is sufficient for today, it is not granted for future things which may or may not happen. Worrying about the future will only rob us of our joy today...and is something we must guard our minds against. God can use us where and wherever we are. If He desires to use us elsewhere, then the opportunity will present itself. These are the questions I would ask myself; Is there an opportunity? Does it conform to Gods Word? In what lies ahead of you what are Gods purposes and interests? What is God wanting to accomplish? If you cannot answer those questions, then perhaps God's will is that you wait until you can. The Apostle Paul was going through something similar. He longed to go to Rome. He longed to be with and to encourage and be encouraged by the saints there. This is what he prayed... "...I pray that now at last by God's will the way may be opened for me to come to you."Romans 1:10 Our desires and Gods desires are not always the same, our timing is not always God's timing...but if it is God's will, the way will be opened to you. Peace

Peace I just want to say, "Thank you for this post." This is something that I have really been needing to read. I have been faced with my own struggles and I find myself at times, questioning alot of things. Your post is very comforting, assuring and holds so much knowledge of God's Word. We all need a reminder at times. Again, thanks
