Movie 1: 'I want my two dollars!'

Movie 2: 'We are the knights who say... kni!'

Movie 3: 'Artoo, stay with the ship.'

Movie 4: 'But first, you've got to get revenge with Kent. It is a moral imperative.'

Movie 5: 'Jack. Jack. I'll never let go. Jack...'

Movie 6: 'You never close your eyes anymore, when I kiss your lips. And there's no tenderness like before at your fingertips...'

Movie 7: 'You didn't have to miss. I know. I only did that to help you feel you are doing well.'

That may have bent the rules a little. So sorry. : )

I'm not a movie buff but I think I recognize some of those lines.
1 is that from Rainman?
4 Superman (1,2,3), maybe?
5 Titanic?
6 It's a song called you've lost that lovin' feeling

How man did I get?

1. not telling yet.
2. someone will get this soon. I'm thinking MediumOneOne.
I know you know 3.
4. Nope. Nothing to do with Superman or Clark Kent.
5. Yea!
6. That's right, and it was a prominent part of what movie? Sorry, no hiking or outdoors stuff in this one.

You got one right! I doubt anyone would have gotten number one.

Movie 1: 'I want my two dollars!'

phenomenally funny movie!! My wife's OB/GYN was a fan if it also. When teh Girl was being born Dr Wendy had to go do an emergency c-section. When she got back and lifted the sheet covering M she saw a napkin on which was written "I want my two dollars" We almost lost the Dr. she was laughing so hard.

Another good quote "It's got raisins. You like raisins"

(And because of your post 153, "language lessons" and the Japanese Howard Cosell)

quote:

Movie 2: 'We are the knights who say... kni!'

Bring us a shrubbery!!

quote:

Movie 3: 'Artoo, stay with the ship.'

"How you get so big eating food of this sort"

quote:

Movie 4: 'But first, you've got to get revenge with Kent. It is a moral imperative.'

Movie 5: 'Jack. Jack. I'll never let go. Jack...'

I'm at a loss on both of these.

quote:

Movie 6: 'You never close your eyes anymore, when I kiss your lips. And there's no tenderness like before at your fingertips...'

(I'm trying hard not to show it. But baby, Baby I know (the answer)

quote:

Movie 7: 'You didn't have to miss. I know. I only did that to help you feel you are doing well.'

I feel that I know this one but can't come up with it.

How about this movie line:

On the surface, everything seems fine. I've got this great guy. And he loves my kid. And he sure does like me a lot. And I can't live like that. It's not the way I'm built

Gracie, you should get this. This movie brought tears to my eyes so many times.

Jerry Maguire?

Jerry Maguire! I've only watched it once... partly because I don't like Tom Cruise and partly because it made me cry (maybe I should put that in the tearjerker thread).

Gracie and Waiting, you are both correct. sigh...that's probably one of the few movies I can see over and over again (like kids do, lol) and still get excited. I love a good love story. I remember wishing I'd find a Jerry McGuire. Someone I dated used that line "you complete me" to me and it was the most romantic thing. I'm guessing he's now incomplete because I'mnot in his life, lol

I'm not so good at movie lines so I have no guesses but I will toss out some song lyrics instead. I heard this song on the way to work this morning.

Runnin' out of self control
Gettin' close to an overload
Up against a no win situation
Shoulder to shoulder, push and shove
I'm hangin' up my boxin' gloves
I'm ready for a long vacation

Lots of great one-liners from this movie:

Andie: True or False: All's fair in love and war.
Ben: True.
Andie: Great answer.
Ben: Good question!

Samson named the first one, and John_O knew it, named Better Off Dead, an early John Cusak movie. A girly kind of comedy. I could watch it once every couple months.

2. John_O knows it... no one has named it yet. What is your favorite color? Blue.... no, no, green! AAaaaaauauuuughhhhhh! (hint)

3. John_O knows this one, too, but leaves it to be named by someone else. 'Take you to him I will, hmmm?? Yes... but first we must eat.'

4. this is kind of right up there with the first one. another hint....
'I sure hope someone can tell me what is going on here... .'
'I can, but first, let me compliment you on your choice of footwear attire. (bunny slippers on both actors).

5. Prairiehiker got this right, that's from Titanic.

6. John_O is correct, that's from Top Gun.

7. That's a line a missed former TV wrestler Andre the Giant used in Princess Bride after tossing the first plaster rock at Wesley.

So 2, 3, and 4 still need naming. Now it's my turn to play some.

Ok, for each one you believe you've named, you need to post a line for someone else.

I don't know that one GraceNMercy. sosorry.

1. When I came home, there was a man in my house. He had a mechanical arm.

2. Allow me to introduce myself. I am __________. I was named after St. _________, who was known....

3. Verify our range to target. One ping only.

4. Sorry, Mr. President. I don't dance.

5. Now, while you are just hanging around, there's two things to consider. What a man can do, and what a man can't do.

6. You, me, and the bay of Monterray.

7. Does your dog bite?
No.
Nice doggy.
Snarling, snapping, almost biting.
I thought you said your dog did not bite?
That is not my dog.

OK One John posted a John Cusak movie so I'll post a few quotes from one of my all time favorites. The best and funniest relationship movie I've ever seen and I'd imagine not too many people here have ever seen it.

Rob: Should I bolt every time I get that feeling in my gut when I meet someone new? Well, I've been listening to my gut since I was 14 years old, and frankly speaking, I've come to the conclusion that my guts have **** for brains.

Laura: I'm too tired not to be with you.
Rob: What, so if you had a bit more energy we'd stay split up, but things being as they are, with you being wiped out and all, you want to get back together? Is that it?
Laura: Yeah.

Rob: I can't fire them. I hired these guys for three days a week and they just started showing up every day. That was four years ago.

And my favorite from the guy that works in the record store...

Barry's Customer: Hi, do you have the song "I Just Called To Say I Love You?" It's for my daughter's birthday.
Barry: Yea we have it.
Barry's Customer: Great, Great, can I have it?
Barry: No, no, you can't.
Barry's Customer: Why not?
Barry: Well, it's sentimental tacky ****. Do we look like the kind of store that sells I Just Called to Say I Love You? Go to the mall.

One John, I've heard the bolded line (#3) above. The thing is I can't remember where...I'm going to guess it's a movie that I've actually not seen...I only read the book.

The Hunt For Red October (?)

Ok...I think One John's got a good idea...if you come in to post an answer, we gotta keep it going, so post another line.

There is one of mine that has yet to be guessed. It's from a rather obscure old movie with Danny Kay, called The Court Jester and the line is absolutely hilarious in context...

"I live for a sigh! I die for a kiss! I lust for a laugh! Ha! Ha! I never walk when I can leap, I never flee when I can fight! I swoon at the beauty of a rose!"

If you have run out of movies to watch, do find that one for a great laugh.

Here's a line from one of our favorites...

"I'm coming traveling buddy!!!!"

source?

shallbe

This movie hasn't come out yet, but I loooove the movie line.

"You brought a snack."

Picture this
You and me
Walking down
A white sand beach
We're holding hands
We're all alone

This is probably one of my all time favourite songs.

Excellent movie. Was it Florence or Venice she wanted to go to? and for a further hint
