Your prayers will be appreciated.

A week ago from last Saturday night I was overcome with nausea in our car and passed out...was taken by ambulance to the emergency room where they discovered that I have multiple gallstones.

This morning, I have an appointment with a surgeon and hope to schedule the surgery when my wife is back home and can be my ride to & from surgery. My doctor tells me that this kind of surgery nowadays is slick & easy with very short recovery time.

My wife leaves in the wee hours of tomorrow morning to see and help her aging mother in another part of the country. Her plane reservations have been set for some time and her mother is greatly anticipating the visit.

Anyway, we are praying that the need for surgery will wait for my wife's return without my having to be taken to the emergency room again. It will work out fine but we don't know how just yet.

Thanks for your prayers.

Dear Father, thank You for Jim and his wittness for You here on this forum and I'm sure whereever he goes. Father, help with the timing of this surgery, so that Jim's wife can see and help her mother and still be here to be by Jim's side on the day he has his surgery. Keep him from having any attacks of pain or nausa during the time he has to wait for the surgery. Cause all to go well with the surgery and helpl him to heal quickly, with no problems. We ask for healing Lord, from the top of his head to the tip of his toes, and Your blessings and comfort during this time. Thank You that You will be with him through the whole thing. In Jesus name we ask for what You know is best for Jim and his family. Amen

They're right about this surgery being so much better now a days Jim. God Bless

Father,

You are the Great Physician and we come to you now asking for Jim to be free of illness, pain, nausea.
Be with his doctors and the medical staff so that they have steady hands and make wise decisions.
Please allow Jim to heal quickly after surgery.
Protect his wife as she visits with her mother and on the return trip.
Bless both of them and help them to continue to be witnesses for You.
Give them both comfort and peace.
I pray that in all things Your will be done.

In Jesus name,
Amen.

Praying in agreement for this.

My daughter had her gall bladder out earlier this year and it was much better than I remember it being for other family members just a few years ago.

Met with the surgeon this morning. The surgery is schedule for Friday, November 14. My wife should be back by then with no problem to take me to and from the day surgery. Isn't it great to watch God simplify "problems"?...Maybe I should say, "challenges".

The current challenge is not to start vomiting again. My primary doctor told me to go to the emergency room if I start vomiting again. Once in a while I feel the nausea trying to build up but each time it has subsided.

Thank you for your prayers and encouragment. You are great.

Dear Lord,

Please calm Jim's system for the next seveal days until he has his lap cholecystectomy. No big deal, as i found out about 10 years ago. It is slick as reported. Thank you Lord for wonderful surgery theses days. It is amazing!

Bless Jim Lord, now and then, with peace and fantastic healing.

In Jesus name!!!

Jim, it is just 3 teensy puncture spots and poof they can see the gall bladder, take it out, and you are done.

I was visting like a nut right after PACU, and hopped up and threw on my (loose) jogging pants and went home.

I took a couple of Darvocet, then some Tylenol the next day, and that was about it.

No eating restrictions AFTER it was done.

:)

The only side affect for about 24 hours was R. shoulder pain due to the gasses they inject into your abdomen to poof up the ab. cavity to see the gall bladder. No big deal, but if you feel it, it is normal. It gets absorbed in about 24 hrs.

:)

No big deal.

Just don't eat anything spicy before surgery to kick it off agian.

I had 50 gallstones and my sonogram looked like a snowstorm. :)

Father God please cause these gallstones to dissolve and disappear harmlessly. That's my request anyway! In any case, I pray Jim would be healed from this with very little trouble in whatever way You want to do it.
I ask in Jesus Name. Amen.

It seems to me, Jim, from memory, that on a previous occasion when you became ill, your wife was also just heading away to see someone in another part of the country. Almost seems like the enemy wants to strike while you don't have support around. Lord Jesus, we thank You that You have defeated our enemy. I pray this whole episode would be an awesome testimony, used for Your great glory in some way, so that the enemy's plans would be utterly useless! Amen.

Hi Keabird,

Thank you for your prayers...now and in the past.

Your memory is partially correct in that I had several prayer requests when my wife went to visit with her father (who had cancer...is now deceased) and her mother who was and is quite feeble. Those prayer requests, however, were for my wife, her father and her mother.

Although my memory is not great, I don't remember being ill at those times.

This time, the prayer request has to do newly found gallstones and upcoming surgery.

It is interesting...as you mentioned...that challenges seem to come in groups—such as my having this gallstone attack about the time that my wife goes to help her mother.

We can be thankful that the enemy is not capable of victory when Jesus Christ is in the situation.

Thank you, Keabird for your perseverance in prayer.

Thanks to the rest of you, too.

Oh well - not far off - someone was ill and someone was going away at the time. Praise God, as you say Jim, that Jesus Christ is Lord of each and every situation.

Thank you all for your prayers.

The surgery went well yesterday and I'm home recovering. There was nausea and pain afterward, but the nausea is now gone. The pain seems to be getting better, too, but is still there even with pain pills. Today is much better than yesterday. For that matter, each hour seems to be a bit better than the previous hour.

God is the greatest! You aren't so bad either.
