Now, now rhippie, Obama himself said there is only one president at a time in this country and so far, it ain't him. It was thought that Obama made that statement at the press conferrence yesterday to distance himself from Bush and whatever "harm" might happen between now and Jan. 20.
So, getting back to what you said... rather than Obama... Bush still has an impact.

Considering the stock market has considered consistent 1000pt drop since Obama's election, I would have to say the main effect he is having on our economy is to terrify investors.

Our state went to Obama (it is actually required by the Minnesota constitution that our electoral votes go to a Democrat no matter what the popular vote) but where I live (which is the stronghold of th rebel alliance) is very conservative and voted for McCain (and Michelle Bachmann, yeah!) so we get the worst weather as a result of Obama's first executive order.

Thankfully, our state not only went for McCain, but our state legislature kept a Republican majority (a slim majority, but, still a majority)...
with such a good state & local government, it just may soften the blow caused by at least SOME of the damage Obama inflicts on the rest of the country.
time will only tell.

Because, as soon as the economy breaks out of it's "down cycle", and starts to recover, be it in February....or next September.....he will be applauded as the person "responsible" for doing so....
and, will get the credit for the recovery and everything (totally disregarding the fact that a recovery will occur on it's own)....
