That's my point. There are RINOs out there saying the GOP needs to go even further left, especially in regards to social conservatism. That's is advice that will simply lose for the GOP.
If they ever get back to having real conservative candidates for their offices, they will win again.

Actually, the origin of the terms "left wing" and "right wing" for politics dates from pre-Revolutionary France:

The revolutionary commoners sat on the left side of the Assembly, and the nobles sat on the right. We can but speculate as to why they chose that particular arrangement. (Maybe they were influenced by the Biblical passages, who knows?)

I find this interesting cause of the fact we have much separation and division here alone in this forum. Even among believers we are being separated so-to-speak.

Eh.
Speaking for myself I'm bored with Palin and with Palin bashing.
I think she did enough damage to her reputation this election on her own to render any future presidential run irrelevant with out any need to criticize her any more.
She might ultimately become a state senator, and she might even try to run for president, but from everything I've seen about her she's simply not capable of winning.
Republicans should realize this now and avoid the trouble.
The future of the republican party is now all about Bobby Jindal, in my estimation.
I have no doubt that McCain asked him to be his VP (if you remember, McCain made a trip to meet with him a couple weeks before announcing, and Jindal proclaimed that he had no interest shortly after), but (as I said then) I think he was smart enough to not hitch his wagon to a dying horse.
If Jindal and Palin run in 2012, I think Jindal would easily beat her out in the primaries.

exactly what did she do that damaged her chances? The africa is a country thing has been proven to be false. The secret service came out early and said that there weren't chants of kill him and this story here,if you actually read the article and not the headline, does not even mention that the secret service connected her to any of this.

It is little more than perception, which to the left is reality (the media is the message, and all that). To them, her supposed lack of experience and supposed gaffes (unlike Obama's real lack of experience and Biden's real gaffes) make her somehow unqualified.

We've got a hot bench for 2012. Jindal, Palin, Gingrich, Huckabee, Romney (even though some dislike him)... shoot, even Fred Thompson again, there are several dozen excellent conservatives who need to begin positioning themselves now in order to remove Barack "Ready to RULE over you on day one" Obama from his throne come 2012. Depending on how much welfare goodies Barack can manage to hand out and how well he hides his socialist policies and agendas from the public, I just can't see hm being a popular president in 4 years to anyone except the hardcore Obamatons and of course the majority of the black population and others who have a hard time looking beyond skin color.

The RINOs managed to scuttle him in favor of Arlen Specter, unfortunately. I liked him a lot and also Rick Lazio of New York. Remember, he was the one who"invaded Hillary's space" in one of the debates for the 2004 (?) NY Senate race.

Didn't Rick Santorum challenge Arlen Specter for Specter's senate seat? That's what I was thinking and referring to.
