Unfortunately it's looking a little too late for that. His first priorities look to be revising any limits Bush had placed on protecting the unborn:

I don't like calling our President "the leader of the free world". It's time America stopped trying to "lead" the world, free or otherwise. It implies imperialism which I find dis-tasteful. A leader among many, but not "the leader". So after he gets back from Disney Land maybe his first act should be showing the rest of the world that America does really respect them and that we don't look down our noses at them.

Okay, Leader implies Leader. Ruler implies imperialism. The US is not imperialistic. Definitely freedom is not imperialistic. Marxism on the other hand is imperialism, as is
Islamism.
So no offense, but our President is the leader of the free world. And is commonly referred to as such. Like it or not.
Here are some ways that our country leads the free world:
- largest economy, still.
- largest free country and most free country, still.
- largest, most effective and most advanced military, which is often used to protect others than Americans, and is often used to deliver humanitarian aid.
- largest member of NATO.
- most charitable both personally and nationally
Here are some countries for which the term should not apply:
- Russia, not free
- China not free
- Anything ruled by a sheik or a king. (Saudi Arabia being an example.)
- India - the Caste system and widespread religious persecution disqualifies it.
- England is probably the closest to being a leader
- Most of the rest of Europe would rather have the USA do the "heavy lifting" when it comes to defending freedom. And France, at least until recently, is too self-centered.
And I, for one, will use that term to refer to whomever is president, and Obama will be the leader of the free world on January 20th.

You are assuming something is "wrong" with the country in the first place.
0bama's moronic speech about bringing "fundamental change" also makes this stupid assumption.
What about all of us who think our fundamentals are pretty solid already? Why do we need to change something that has worked just fine for 230+ years? The only change we need is to reject any imbecilic idea that comes out of the Democrat party (which means rejecting everything that comes out of a Democrat's mouth).
